“Great and courteous service”

Service at the Aranvert was of a very high standard. Check in & check out was easy. On our last day we had a couple of hours to spare after check out. Our baggage was secured and taxis organised to take us to the train. The staff were extremely helpful at all times. The rooms were rather small. I think that next time I would ask for a room with two single beds. Breakfast was generous and inexpensive. The hotel is well located less than 100 metres from a local train station. I would certainly use this hotel again and recommend it for anybody

“A very sensible choice”

For a moderately priced hotel, this one would be hard to beat. It is close to a metro station and is within walking distance of a number of important sites. The neighborhood is dotted with small and beautiful Bhuddist temples and shrines (especially south of Gojo street), there are attractive local restaurants and the hotel's restaurant was surprisingly good itself. I travel alone, but I always take a room with two beds . . . it was small but quite adequate. I don't know what a "single single" would be like.

“Great stay at Aranvert”

The hotel is conveniently located right down the street from a subway stop- Gojo Stn- and within walking distance of the Kyoto Station, market, lots of shops and restaurants. Room is large by Japanese standards with good amenities, including a kimono, haori, and slippers provided for every guest. There is a laundry room on the top floor of the hotel, as well as a Japanese bath. Nice touch!

“Amazing surprise: wonderful Kyoto cuisine!”

The restaurant's menu did not prepared us to this wonderful dinner. The menu looks awful, we were expecting having for this last night in Kyoto an average mid western-mid japanese meal. The breakfast buffet is delicious, abundant with plenty of choice. The staff has been very helpful, dedicated and charming.

“Hotel Aranvert”

Good location, 5 minutes from JR train station, 2 blocks from subway. Beautiful lobby. Friendly, English-speaking staff. Cheap restaraunt for lunch.

“Great Hotel”

Aranvert Hotel was a perfect place to stay for us. When we planned our trip to Kyoto, we did not expect to spend a lot of time in the hotel, so the small-ish size (though roomy by some Japanese standards) was no problem. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. It is certainly not a resort, but it is a nice place to sleep after a day traversing the streets. The neighborhood is not anything special, but the hotel is less than 5 minutes walking from both a subway station and a bus station. It is also about 15 minutes to Kyoto Station, where you can get anything you need. I would definitely stay there again.

“Good place”

Nice place to stay. Close to Kyoto Station though a bit of a walk to Shijo Kawaramachi. Close to bus stops, but you do want to take a bus to most sights. Very friendly helpful staff. Nice bath.
