“Hotel Opatija - very good choice !”

We enjoy staying in this lovely hotel. This hotel is like leaving in a palace.

recently stayed at hotel opatija and would definately stay there again. the only draw back was there was no fridge in the room.

Wonderful quite hotel located two minutes from the beach. Great for a first time trip to Croatia. The hotel staff is fluent in Croatian, English, German, and Italian. No hassles, very enjoyable. The accomodations arent the best, but still worth it. If you are looking for an leisurely vacations without worries of the language barrier then Hotel Opatija is the place to stay. They offer english speaking trips and activities from the hotel. One of the best European hotels I have stayed at for the low price.

“A basic but good Hotel”

You could see that this was once a very grand hotel, however it is now looking a little tired. Room was nice, but no air-con. A good choice of food and staff were friendly. If you are looking for a inexpensive and a no-frills hotel in Opatija, I would certainly recommend this hotel.

“A good cheap option but make sure you check your room's location”

The hotel is quite grand from the outside and the reception areas are also attractive if a little 1970's in the dining room where we were served breakfast. The room was clean but very dark and a not a room that I wanted to spend a great deal of time in. After choosing a room with a so called 'garden view' I was a little disappointed to open the shutters to find we looked out on nothing of the sort. Instead we looked out onto an area of waste land at the bck of the hotel and obviously in close proximity to the kitchens and could hear the crashing of washing up etc. Service was good however and if staying for one night in Opatija again and doing so on a similar budget I would give the Hotel Opatija another go.

“Looks can decieve”

The main hotel has an ageing charm about it. But the concrete barrack block to the side carefully left out of photos has none. We where very disappointed to be put there. The wall had signs of damp and although i was offered another barrack block room it was too far from my children. The front of house was curt and omitted to mention the pool or to welcome you at all. Dont turn up early they wont let you in but will store bags, which have to lug in to the store.Short on charm here which is strange as they group who own it look to have other fashionable hotels. Cheap but not that cheerful.

“Disappointingly dated”

A very dated hotel which you can see in the past would have been quite the place to stay. We had an attic room which we knew in advance but it was still not worth the money, particularly in August! The breakfast and terrace were the strong points, service was fine. Location is central to town and there is parking. A shame this hotel doesn't look as good on the inside as it does on the outside.
