I booked a standard suite and was given a room on level 2 facing the river as well as the main road. The room is spacious and clean. When I first checked in, the air-con didn't quite work because after almost half an hour, it still didn't cool the room so I asked for help at the front desk. The situation was rectified immediately and efficiently.
There is a colonial and resort feel to the entire environment, which makes it a perfect place for relaxation. The food at the restaurant was good. I had breakfast daily at the restaurant and there was a small but good selection in the breakfast menu. You get about six choices, including both local and western dishes.
The bathroom was excellent and I really enjoyed the amenities provided, even though I didn't use everything. I thought there were many thoughtful additions and touches in the room which many mainstream hotels don't necessarily provide. For example, this is the first accommodation I've stayed in where built-in international adapters were provided.
The service was impeccable all around but the afternoon/evening shift young receptionist at the front desk needs to take a hospitality 101 course. I asked if the hotel has printing services as I needed to print out my boarding pass. She said the hotel doesn't have that (fair enough) but she wasn't able to help me further. When I asked if there is an Internet cafe nearby where I could go to get my print job done, she wasn't able to help me with that either.

We were extremely happy with our stay. We did a couple of trips around Kuching (National Park, caves, orangutan)
which are offert from the Hotel. The private trips are good organised, based what you want to see and in my opinion not over priced for what you get. You can definitely visit all the places by your own, but then you would miss defnetly most stuff which can be seen.

Nearby banks, waterfront, mall, kopitiam, main bazaar by walk. Awesome experience with good hospitality and very helpful staff of the hotel. Nice view from 5th floor lounge for the sunset. The signature dish of lime cheese cake is a must try! And local cuisine of laksa sarawak too..

The Quiik Cat is a simple, family-run Bed and Breakfast. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. The room is simple with 3 beds, an AC unit and nothing more. The toilets and showers are shared but are kept clean and in good condition. The Quiik Cat is ideal for an overnight stay or if you plan on spending the days sight-seeing and merely need a place to sleep.

I stayed there 3D2N, arrived in the morning and checked in promptly. The receptionist was friendly. Got myself a nice cozy room (cozy and comfortable, not the kind of rooms you would get in Hilton or Pullman, but hey, it wasn't bad for the price you pay for a hotel in the middle of Kuching - I paid half that I would have paid other top tier hotels that are around in the vicinity!).
The housekeepers were friendly. They appeared as decent locals who make an entirely honest living out of working at the hotel (although as a rule of thumb, I believe that we should always keep our personal belongings and gadgets safe before leaving the room).
Recommended if you're on budget travel and you'd love to do your part in supporting the local economy there.
