“Best view of Petronas towers”

We booked one of the rooms with the view of the towers and were not disappointed. Excellent prime view of the Petronas towers from the room window to wake up to each morning. Although our ride had trouble finding it initially due to the one way streets, the hotel is actually in a good location - next to park which you can take a stroll through and shop at KLCC mall on the other side. -walking distance to other shopping malls (eg. Pavillion) and places to eat around Jalan Bukit Bintang (street). Hotel staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the one breakfast we had in the hotel, due to the great variety and choice of different food types on offer. The only criticisms are that there were a few stains in the carpet in the room, and that housekeeping didn't replace any of the cutlery originally in the room after we'd used for our self cater snacks. The pool/bar on the top floor provides excellent viewing of the Petronas towers as well. The gym was good enough also.

For the ladies - excellent shoe shopping at the Vincci

Dining

Go and eat at Jalan Alor - a road full of street side restaurants.

Other

Try one of the fish spas, where the fish will eat away the dead skin from your weary feet.

“Great value and service. .”

Great 4 star hotel (5 star ?) helpfull staff and try to take advantage of any upgrade offers as they represent great value.

“Good.”

This hotel was fresh, clean, new and had staff which spoke english extremely well. The location was walking distance to the twin towers and the Pavillion shopping centre. The only negative was when I booked a budget taxi the night before departure and the staff member didn't book with the taxi company until we arrived in the lobby ready to be dropped off at the airport the following morning (lucky I over exaggerate time before the plane leaves).

“Inconvenient”

The worst of all the hotels I have stayed in a long time Check was 2 hours late, shower head didn't work , the restrraunt was booked for a private function and we were not told so when dinner came only the buffet was. Available and it was horrid Look around there is is much better than this place

“great hotel with a view to Petronas”

It^s my favourite hotel in KUL as you can see Towers out of the window. The service is great, very competent staff and always willing to help. Food is delicious and the bar has a spectacular view

Area recommendations

petronas Towers are just walking distance from the hotel, the same Aquarium and shopping center with lots of restaurants. I visited Bird and Butterfly park - higly recommended. Ipoh city is 250km ca 3 hrs drive from KUL so be sure you dont need to catch flight in the evening otherwise you dont have enough time to go back and forth

“Lacking in service skills”

Thought this hotel had great views of the twin towers and the room was very comfortable. Generally a good stay but on the whole thought the place was let down by the lack of service skills of the food and beverage staff in the bar/pool area. Expected more, disappointed!

“Love Traders for a stopover”

Netherlands to New Zealand is a big trip, better to cut it in two. We used Traders hotel several times now, works for us. They even have a special Traders Lounge now, where you can relax and snack and drink yourself through the day. Book Park view to get direct view to the Petronas towers or the cheaper City view.

“Great Hotel - highly recommend it!”

Our first time in Kuala Lumpur and this hotel was just great. The staff went out of their way to help us, the location was great - It is not in the "noisy night club" part of town - but it is only a 5 minute easy walk to Bukit Bingtan and a cheap cab fare to the china town markets. We paid a little extra for the "traders club" package and we thought it was well worth it. If you can afford the little extra for towers view room do it!! Loved it, will use it again if we get back to KL.

Area recommendations

Business people, people over 40 the business KLCC area. Young travellers - Bukit Bingtan area.

Shopping

In china town market we found that we offered half what the asking price was and worked up a little from that - just have fun haggling smile and joke with the locals, it is great fun and you will get better bargains. Stop and remember just how liitle you are paying for some items.

Events and shows

We went to Kuala Lumpur for the Malasyisan Moto GP - Great event but make sure you pack a hat, sunscreen and basically keep safe in the sun. The traffic was crazy on the Sunday - "main race day" so it was a great idea that we stayed at the "Pan Pacific Hotel" (or any hotel ) close to the airport or race track to save the hassle of taffic back into KL.
