“Great Location but filthy!”

Amazing location! Helpful and polite staff Good breakfast However public stairwell and room disgustingly filthy! Sticky floor Smelly bathroom with very low lighting Dusty overall with lots of hair and dandruff on chair. Remote didn't work properly and smoky chimney near window. Staff dishonest and uncaring saying uncleanliness was due to scheduled upgrade. Nonsense!

“fabulous location”

Hotel has unassuming entrance. I was a bit worried at first. There is an elevator athough reviews on other sites said there wasn't one. Our room was spacious. The bathroom was big, clean and modern. The weather was warm, therefore the fan provided was welcome and we opened the windows. Our room faced the back toward a restaurant but noise was not an issue. We brought ear plugs just in case. The hotel is a few building off the main square which makes it an ideal location. All in all, this hotel was an excellent choice because of cleanliness, location and the great breakfast provided which was included in the very reasonably priced hotel.

“Modern & Centrally Located, but Noisy!”

Overall we were very impressed with the hotel and its location - our room had been recently rennovated, so it was clean, modern and well presented. The ensuite was equally very pleasant. The breakfast is served at a restaurant a coupe of doors down and was generally good - they served real scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, bread, fruit and cereal. The hotel is just off the main square and here is the disappointing bit - it was so noisy! The constant clip-clop of horses and carriages and people enjoying their night out made the room unbearable during the night. It was also warm and there is no air-conditioning, so it was a choice of sweltering in the heat or putting up with constant noise. The trucks, vans and workmen (the hotel across from us was being renovated) also start early so forget a sleep in. The old town is small so our advice would be to get a hotel a street or two back from the main square - you may have to walk a futher 2-5mins but you should get a good nights sleep.

Area recommendations
Krakow took us by surprise - we were there for a wedding so didnt really know what to expect of the town and its people. We highly recommend visiting the old town. There was a festival on when we were there so I dont know what its like normally, but there were market stalls selling arts, crafts, food and beer. The prices in the square are more expensive than elswhere but its worth taking an outside seat at one of the many restaurants in the square, sip on some beer, eat some Peirogi (a dumpling containing all sorts of yummy ingredients) and do some people watching. If you are particularly hungry you must try the pork knuckle. Restaurant "Pod Wawelem" near the castle is outstanding - large portions and really well priced - you buy the knuckle by the 100g, minimum of 1kg. The staff were attentive and very helpful. There are scales at the door so you can weigh yourself as you enter and leave if you dare. Other highlights include a golf cart ride around the Jewish quarter - try to find a driver who is knowledgeable as ours was okay but we felt we were missing something when comparing stories with others guests at the wedding. Finally a trip to Auschwitz is recommended. Its a long day out but worth it - our tour (which I beleive was typical) visited both Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II (Birkenau). Tours are conducted of both sites so you will get a full explanation and appreciation of the lives faced by those folk unfortunate to be taken there.

“Great location in Krakow”

Hotel Rezydent has a great location on a colorful street just off the main square in Krakow. The hotel is clean and the service friendly and helpful. The desk called an early morning van for our party of five so we could make the train. The only negatives are that the rooms are somewhat small and some require walking up several flights of stairs. Make sure you request a "newly renovated room."

Area recommendations
The neighborhood around the main square is lively with many good restaurants and cafes.

“Very impressed.”

We had a beautifully renovated room at the Hotel Rezydent. The bathroom was exceptional. Location was also supurb as it was right near the Market Square. Breakfast is at Marmolada restaurant which is a few doors down the road. There was a good choice of hot & cold food available. For the price we paid it was very good value for money.

“Good Location But Not a Nice Place”

Location and breakfast are great, but room is run down and staff are hard to deal with. Our room (#8)was directly over the roof of the resturant was very noisey. We had asked the staff to relocate our room but they told us "NO!" and that was it. Staff could work on thier "soft skills". Bathroom was recently redone and was nice, the room needs major updating.

“Fabulous location”

Superbly located next to Market Square. Beautiful and comfortable rooms, although first night spoiled by neighbour doing DIY at midnight. Staff changed our rooms without fuss. Excellent breakfast to start the day. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Area recommendations
Stay in the Centre, which is full of charm and countless restaurants. Suburbs are a bit dull. Everything is in walking distance.
When to go
Go in spring or autumn. Summer can get uncomfotably hot and many hotels have no air conditioning. Winter is freezing.
Getting around
Everything is in walking distance, but buses and trams are easy to use.
Must see
A visit to Auschwitz, although harrowing, is an absolute must. Everyone should see what was done to ensure it never happens again. Salt mines are fascinating and spectacular.

“Excellent choicie for a visit to historic Krakow”

It's a fairly modest place but it has everything you need and the location is ideal. Our twin room was very spacious. Breakfast was good, and healthy. We appreciated the wi-fi, when it worked. The en suite was also excellent, and spacious. Only slightly odd thing was no shower curtain.

Area recommendations
Jewish quarter is interesting and very sympathique.
