“Ideally situated”
Just returned from 4 night stay (12th - 16th Dec ), buy 3 get 4th night free!! Initial impression of local area was 'poor, run down' but soon realised we were in an ideal location...walking distance from main square and lots of local bars and resaurants, and overall impression improved each day! We were in a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet but our friends were at the front and were able to hear the trams. The hotel rooms were adequate and comfortable, tea/coffee making facilities, complementary bottled water and toiletries. Breakfast was ok, plenty of cereal, bread, cheese, ham etc and if you ask, scrambled egg included but for a small fee omlettes were available all freshly cooked. No bar in hotel but plenty within a short walk. We booked trips to Auschwitz and Salt mines through hotel...a little more expensive than independant travel but a lot less hassel! We walked to Shindler's museum and took a City tour electric mobile to the Castle. The Main square was very pretty, more so at night with the Chrismas market and carol singing. Eating out , even in restaurants situated around the square was excellent value for money (approx £35 for 4 people, starter, main course and drink! ). Taxi from the airport to hotel was approx £15. Didn't use the trams but believe you buy the tickets before boarding. Taxis were really cheap and plentiful. Not the prettiest city, except for the main square, but would definately recommend a visit.
“WOULD LOVE TO RETURN”
CLEAN , BASIC BUT WITH ALL THE TRAPPINGS NEEDED FOR A GOOD BASE, WOULD RECOMMEND AS A VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY HOTEL IF VISITING KRAKOW,
“Krakow 2011”
Hotel was located in a great area with lots of quirky bars and restaurants nearby. Only 15minutes walk to the old town and square, and only 10minutes walk to Wawel Castle. The hotel was good value for money, breakfast was adequate, the only down side being the building work ie. drilling going on outside our room from 7.30am each morning. Hotel booked us a great trip to Auschwitz All in all a very good trip
“5 star experience at (less than) 3 star price. Brilliant!!”
We'd read online reviews of this hotel before our (6 nights) holiday & thought "ok, sounds promising but how reliable can these reviews be?” However, nothing prepared us for what we found & experienced. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we struggled to find fault with this hotel. Price; Convenient location; Friendly, helpful, professional & good humoured staff; Excellent room (size, cleanliness, quiet, good facilities – especially the power shower!, Complimentary bottled (fizzy) water daily, Kettle, etc); Great breakfast selection & something for every taste - served at a sensible time (between 7-11am). Even the emailed pre-notification/advanced apology for a party taking place when we were due to be staying was unnecessary as there was no real disturbance heard. The only 2 things we can feed back as ‘food for thought’ are: 1. Double bed duvet was a little small to cover 2 ‘large’ occupants adequately, and; 2. There’s only 1 English speaking TV channel (Sky News) tuned-in on the TV. (We’d have preferred BBC News –if only 1 channel on offer). All in all, we had a fantastic holiday & the hotel stay was very much the foundation for this. We’d recommend this hotel to everyone with no hesitation & all 3 star hotels could learn a thing or two from Hotel Kazimierz II. We look forward to returning to stay there next time we visit Krakow.
“krakow in the rain '”
the hotel is only 5 mins on the tram from one of the main squares and market . It is situated in the jewish area of the city where there is a host of interesting and historical places to see .food is cheap and beer and vodka are a steal We went late august this year so please take a brolly as it never stopped raining YOU MUST VISIT THE CASTLE .We really enjoyed our 3 day stay and would go back. Our taxi from the airport was only 12 pounds for a 35 minute trip a real bargain and a lot easier than the bus.Enjoy we did.
“Basic accomodation”
Clean Hotel, OK .Rooms OK but very noisy from plumbing waking us through the night and early morning. Breakfast OK, but coffee undrinkable..I mean the worst ever. Good location, but I wouldn't recommend it there are plenty of other hotels around the city square
“cant wait to go back”
a most enjoyable break from work. the hotel was fine and the nearness to krakow city centre was no problem would reccomend this visit .
“Clean, comfortable and friendly”
Positioned in the Jewish Quarter this hotel is in walkable distance of the main railway station. If you don't want to walk, there is a regular tram service in the street outside. Besides being clean, comfortable and friendly you only have yourself to blame if you are still hungry after breakfast! An additional bonus is that there is a pickup point very nearby for those wanting to go on any of the various tours that are on offer - including those organised by Cracow Tours. The only downside was that the coffee and tea supplies in our room were not replenished after the day we arrived. No doubt we could have asked for more, if we wanted some.
“looking forward to going back”
The Hotel is very clean and tidy, the staff spoke excellant english and were very helpful in booking trips to the comfort of the room (i have a allergy to feather pillows so they swapped them right away without any complaint)The breakfast was fantastic so much food and a nice relaxed pace to enjoy your fill.I can only praise the level of service we recieved.
“Little gem”
Lovely hotel a stones throw away from a beautiful jewish square of bars and resturants. A short distance away from most touristy area but still just a short walk away from main attractions. Breakfast was great, from 7-11, with extensive choice of food and drink. Staff all spoke excellent english and were very helpful. Ive heard the rooms at the front of the hotel are a little noisy so we just requested a room at the back upon arrival and she was more than happy to change our room. Lots of goodies in room such as slippers and toiletries. Only thing I could possibly speak negatively about is the odd choice of bed linen and a futy smell in corridor. Apart from that this is an excellent hotel from which to base your stay.
