Staying at Golden Age means you live in the center of Athens. 15 minutes on foot for the Syntagma Square, 2 minutes on foot from metro station Megaro Mousikis.
Despite you are there, it is so quite you will hardly understand that you are in the center of a noisy town.
The staff was excellent, starting from the receptionists, always willing to help, going to the cleaners, passing twice a day from the rooms and ending with the waiters, ready to serve your needs.
Visited Athens for 5 days of sun and sight seeing, the Hotel is in an ideal position right next to the Metro Station and within easy walking distance of the Centre. The view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon from the Galaxy Rooftop Bar is stunning even though the drinks are a bit pricey it is worth it for the experience.
The staff were really friendly and helpful in giving information about getting around and further afield.
The hotel was easy to get to from the Airport as it is on a direct Metro line from the Airport.
The hotel is located in a quiet location, yet on a main road. The hotel ticks boxes for a short stay, such as being clean, comfortable and serves a good breakfast, with also reasonably priced room service. It is best described as a business style hotel. Traffic noise in the front rooms is an issue, but at least you have a view to the main road. The customer service and front desk could be improved. Having travelled over twenty hours to get to Athens, and explaining this to the man on the desk, it was not a friendly or warm welome for my first impression of the city. Anyway, as a woman, I found the hotel and location safe and close to public transport to get to to the centre of Athens, or a short twenty minute walk. There are plenty of small restaurant options nearby towards the American Embassy.
I would rate this hotel a 4 star, not a 5 star. Everything was very acceptable, with the exception of my room, which was unfinished and somewhat dilapidated. Many of the staff were terrific, especially the Experience Specialist, who helped me plan out my entire itinerary for the next day.the buffet was great and the rooftop pool and bar made my evenings. I was travelling alone and I felt very safe. Would definitely stay again, but in a different room. (I was in G22 and the other rooms in my price range had the same issues.)
Good location 10 minutes from metro but closer to bus stops which take you straight into Central Athens.
Rooms fine if a little basic for grade but perfectly adequate. Bathrooms great.
Hotel staff were brilliant throughout
We really enjoyed Athens, the people, food, sites and transport all terrific. The weather was perfect and we even enjoyed a few hours at the Island Aegina. We look forward to returning to this great place.

Near Syntagma Square, home to the Greek Parliament, Athens’ most expensive residential quarter is the domain of wealthy Greeks and foreign embassy staff. Glamorous socialites frequent the fashionable bar-restaurants, chic boutiques and designer stores. A funicular serves the pine-clad slopes of Mount Lycabettus, and several of Athens’ top museums are within walking distance.
