This hotel was a couple of block from the train station north exit. You could see the sign from the station exit. Down the escalator and straight to the hotel.
The rooms were more spacious than is usual for Japanese rooms. There was room for the suitcase and to walk around.
The breakfast buffet was included and was one of the better ones we had in Japan. There were a selection of both Western and Japanese dishes along with fruit and juice.

Checking in was smooth and easy. I'm lucky that I speak Japanese though, as the staff on duty didn't speak English very well. My room was clean and fresh, which was a welcome comfort after travelling 6 hours then being at a conference for 8 hours. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom well equipped. The only down-side was the TV, which was nice, but I couldn't figure out how to work! That was fine though, as I just used the free wi-fi to surf the web. Breakfast was included, which was a full buffet breakfast with lots of Japanese, Chinese and Western(ish) dishes to choose from and a drink bar (coffee, tea, juice etc.).
Checking out was a breeze - I just had to drop my card in the box at reception and let myself out!
For the price, I was very, very happy. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kokura for a business trip.
The room was extremely small. I had difficulty finding places for clothes, papers etc. Had to keep shuffling things around. I am also not sure if there was fresh air intake into the room through ventilation as the air inside got stuffy very quickly. Felt the need to open the window several times during the night to get fresh air. But overall the room was reasonably clean and the location near the train station is very convenient.
