Lovely destination for relaxation and having fun.Of course not comparable with a 5* hotel in the UK but only because there is a different clientel.People looking for pure luxury should book a private villa with butlers. If you look for lovely beach holidays with funny animation team you should definitely go to the rinela beach! The facilities are amazing:indoor + couple of outdoor pools;large private beach with many offers(jet-ski,banana,parasailing,catamaran,windsurfing..); 2 bars; beside main restaurant one Greek restaurant and a Chinese(my favourite) one;very competent Spa departement;animation team which is fantastic! The food quality is not the best but possibly because it would be a big waste, since so many people who book all inclusive would take plates full of food and leave it for garbage. You literally have complimentary food all day.If restaurants are closed after breakfast, lunch and dinner you constantly have snacks at the pool bar.I can't complain about the cocktails and drinks since there were all for free but you shouldn't have that high expectations.
The staff was efficient but not outstanding.I think the size of the hotel and the huge number of guests which is rotating every week does not allow to provide an excellent service for everyone, however all of them were helpful.
I work in a iconic 5*hotel in London and know how to provide that kind of service, however I would never expect it for this occasion.I am very happy with my holidays and recommend it to everyone

My wife and I went to the Aquis Arina Sand for our honeymoon and it couldn't have been a better experience. Not only is it in picturesque Heraklion with it's perfect sunsets, peaceful atmosphere and warm clean sea, but the staff and all that we met there are lovely, accommodating people. From the second we got there the staff was very kind and took us to our bungalow on the sea which had a complimentary bottle of Crete bubbly and a fruit plate. It was a very nice touch to start off our honeymoon after a long 19 hour trip to get there from our home in Canada.
The next 9 days were filled with awesome food from around the world, pleasant staff interactions, and relaxing time spent by the pool and sea. While we were there to just relax and unwind, there was plenty of activities offered at little or no cost at all. The resort has an arcade, pool & ping pong tables, as well as rentals of jet skis, paddle surfing boards and even parasailing.
The 'Animation Team' is terrific. They put on activities and shows every night such as traditional Greek dancing, performance art and dance parties. Throughout the day they are seen greeting guests and ensuring everyone is having a good time as well as running beach volleyball, water polo and other activities.
I could go on a lot more about our terrific experience there, but will sum up my review by saying it was a pleasure to be there and would recommend it to anyone. Crete is beautiful, and the people there are lovely.
On arrival first impression was very good as the hotel and apartments are nestled away as the web site showed. Close to the sea with private beach and large pool.
As we relaxed on the narrow balcony after our flight from Athens to our disappointment our visual view of both the pool
and sea was obstructed from open view by the balcony wall and hand rails. As we sat in the 2 chairs our eye level was the same as the railings..........To enjoy what was indeed a very good panoramic view one had to stand up.
Then accepting perhaps being a little critical directly above the roar of a plane approaching Crete Airport........nothing had
been indicated on your web site nor in write ups?
The hotel situated some 15 kilometres from the main Crete airport was sited directly underneath the incoming flight path and with August being high season this meant planes arriving at between 20 to 30 minutes intervals. All day long from very early morning through into the early hours of the following morning.
Ad to this the thumping beat amplifiers blasted out from the beach bar through into the early hours one can say......
staying in the Hotel is a No! no!
Booking into the hotel we expected to have what hotels normally give.......peace and quiet within the room and not
the promotion of flights from Italy,France, Germany, Portugal, UK and main land Greece........and more besides!
Air conditioning?......wow! what a relic and stink!! the horrible smell being the A/C unit
We booked a short break as we were in need of a good rest and this was the perfect place to go. Staff were lovely, food good, room fantastic, service excellent. With it's own really safe beach - wonderfully designed and engineered to make bathing pure fun. Good swimming pools. We particularly liked the fact that there was no need to carry cash around, free wifi (I needed for business), and reserved beds and 'cabins' on the beach for all rooms.
On arrival, apartment was clean and functional throughout. We stayed 8 days and room was cleaned twice during our stay, although sheets were changed only once. Toilet/shower room was very small but all clean and in good working order, no problems with hot water at any point.
Staff were friendly, easy-going and helpful, they dealt with any questions/requests and even gave us a bottle of drinking water for no charge to when we ran out.
Location: The village of Kokkini Hani is well-connected to other locations along Crete's northern coast by it's proximity to the large national road, and buses are relatively frequent. Kokkini itself has little to offer in terms of attractions but has a few nice beaches and restaurants. Stella apartments are located conveniently with nice views over the sea from many of the windows/balconies, and just a couple of minutes' walk from the main road and shops/supermarket/bars/restaurants. The nearby beach is not one for sunbathing but suitable ones are between 5-20 minutes walk away.
We had a comfortable stay in this hotel, the staff were helpful, the room was cleaned and beds made daily, comfortable beds & the air conditioning was great. Just seconds from the beach, and opposite a bus stop which will take you either towards the east of the island or west towards Heraklion city centre or the airport which is about 15 minutes away and costs a couple of Euro. There is also a swimming pool which was pretty quiet and not too busy, with the usual umbrellas and sun loungers. All in all a good place to stay.
