“Excellent hotel in Cochin, Kerala”

This is our 3rd visit to this hotel so this shows you how much we rate it. It is a hotel in the middle of the city and is the restaurant is extremely good and very reasonable and so interesting watching all the people eating there. We use it as our last night hotel on the way home and we like to go and visit the interesting shops round about. Ideal for visiting the city.

“Good deal hotel”

Arrived at our hotel after a 20rupee tuk tuk ride from the train station.Allowed to check in straight away and had been upgraded.Room was lovely and even had a mini bar. Food was excellent in the evening as we ate there both nights.Drinks were expensive but that was to be expected as it is a "dry" state. Staff very attentive and helpful with information.About 20 min walk down to front and market but nice to see "life" as you pass by.

“Oasis in Cochin”

The Grand Hotel treated us like kings. There were very few westerners staying there ... and even fewer westerners in the streets or neighborhood. However, everyone we ran into, in and outside the hotel, treated us respectfully. The Hotel lacks many facilities ... such as a pool or internet access ( unless you have a wifi enabled laptop with you). It seems to be used more by locals in Cochin on business or visiting the nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the State was on strike during our stay, so we were virtually confined to the Hotel. No open shops, no taxis, no transport. We took a walk in the neighborhood down to the waterfront instead. Unexciting, but educational. I would recommend it as a stop over or base in Cochin ... as long as you didn't want too many in-house facilities.

“The perfect end to a great holiday...”

The Grand is a great institution in Kochi that we'd eaten at many times before, but this was our first stay (the last two days of two weeks in Kerela), and they didn't let us down. A clean, handsome room, spacious and art-deco stylish, a comfy bed, and a well designed bathroom were all in evidence upstairs, but it was the dining at the Grand that really delivered. Whether it's the perfectly balanced local, and India cuisine you're after, or Pan-Asian or European dishes, the kitchen is one of the best in India. And, amazingly, it's not that expensive at all - starters, mains and a bottle of wine for about £20, and most of that is the wine. We will most definitely be back.

The Grand Hotel is a nice clean and modern hotel situated in the heart of Cochin. The staff is courteous and Jude at the travel desk will take care of your travel needs. Also, the restaurant serves great tasting traditional Keralan food. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone passing through Cochin

“Kochi's best value hotel”

Hotel Grand is quite grand, one of the old secrets of Kochi and it has been maintained excellent with renovations. Great mix of comfort and old world charm. The place is very neat, rooms are big and convenient, service is very good and the price is very reasonable when you consider the new places in the neighbourhood charging double the rate for half the value. The location is right in the middle of the city centre. Finally the restaurant is one of the best in Kochi (do not miss the 'Karimeen Pollichathu'). Overall this is a great place for a business or a leisure traveler.
