Founded since the Kamakura era, Tosen Goshobo is the oldest Inn in the sanctuary village of Arima. Hidden in the middle of mountains, the small lively district is the oldest thermal spring resort in Japan.
The three-story, yellow-earth colored building still maintains the nostalgic wooden style which was rebuilt in the 30’s, and stands silently in a leafy gland by the side of the limpid streams of the Taki river.
Praise of shadows
The building features 20 Japanese-style rooms and suites, all with private balconies that open to city, mountain or courtyard views. The favorite Ryokan of Tanizaki Junichiro, Yoshikawa Eiji, and many others.Information missing or incorrect? Tell us!
