Extremely happy with our stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent and the area around the hotel was picturesque. Highly recommended staying here if you will be in Kobe.

We had a sea view and it was amazing! However, compared to the other hotels that we stayed in-Asakusa and Kyoto-this hotel is the oldest- I not updated, the beds were like a brick and the hotel food was less than par and very overpriced. Would not stay there again.

The Kobe seems a bit of a hotel from another era, the economic bubble of the 1980s. It's huge and a little down-at-the-heels grand. Comfortable. Great breakfast. The biggest downside to this hotel is its location. It is separated from the main part of Kobe by two freeways and crossing, while not difficult, feels bleak. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Motomachi neighborhood, further to Sanomiya. There is a shuttle, but that's kind of a pain. If I had it to do again, I would stay someplace in Sanomiya even if the hotel itself was a little less nice. That said, the room was large, the staff were helpful, and, as I said, the breakfast was great. And we sure got our exercise walking back and forth to Motomachi station area where there are many restaurants and shops. So it's fine. I just value convenience over the rest.

Fabulous setting especially as the Xmas light show was around the hotel. Great room with amazing views. Only issue was that you had to pay to use the gym and spa facilities every time you wanted to use it and it wasn’t cheap. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere until we tried to use them.

Hotel Okura Kobe is our favorite place to stay in Japan. The hotel has a stately feel, the staff is first rate and the service is excellent. The views from the ocean side rooms are spectacular. We have returned time after time and will return again.

This Okura is the worst one I have ever stayed. The facility is old and occupied by the tourist group. Especially the floor and air condition is dirty, which I have never experienced in Japan.

Hotel Okura bus to Sannomiya Mint Kobe is very convenient, especially when transferring luggage. Close to Meriken Park, Harbourland; easy access to trains - Kobe and Sannomiya stations. The hotel's focus is on customer service. All hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Washer/dryer facility at no charge was a bonus. We will stay at Hotel Okura again.

Lovely room with port view. Excellent ( = correct) concierge assistance. Free transportation to local train stations. Spacious room. Large enough bathtub. Free laundry service (needs a reservation). Friendly staff. One of the best hotels in Japan based on my personal experience.

Very Japanese hotel in the middle of the port. Clean, pleasant. The hotel is Japanese, which means the bed is lower than the US, but that is culture. The food is great.

This hotel is well past its best and really needs some considerable investment in the rooms in order to remain relevant. Least comfortable bed in the last four or five hotels we’ve used and bed linen old and scratchy. Room decor is dated probably to around the early 80’s at a guess. Staff were amazing. View from our upgraded sea-view room was amazing. Breakfast was great. Shame the tv was dated and no English speaking channels which just isn’t good enough these days.

I think this hotel has had better days. The room was vintage which might suit some tastes. Bathroom is dated, although clean as it can be. Buffet restaurant was not inspiring. Overall there is nothing wrong with this hotel but there are better options for the price.
