“Convenient place near Kobe station”

This is a nice, convenient little place close to Kobe station. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the bathroom; grooves, corners, etc. really needed to be scrubbed. Otherwise, no problem.

“Overall, was quite happy”

Overall, was quite happy with the Chisun-the location is excellent, a short walk from the Kobe JR rail station via underpass and situatied in an area with plenty of facilites about a 15 minute walk from the Harbourland area.It's also close to a Buddist temple which is absolutely beautiful. It is a standard business class hotel, but I was there with my son in a twin room one night and it was clean and comfortable, albeit the bathroom was quite small. The Reception staff do not speak very good English , but understand enough to handle check in/out for English speakers who don't have Japanese. It is wi-fi enabled, but if you don't have wi fi access, you can use the hotel's own PC near reception at a coat of Y100 for 10 minutes. I was a bit disappointed with this, as it's rather costly and not really conducive to browsing online in a public area of the hotel. The Harbourland is Kobe's main attraction, and if you stay at Chisun you can walk there with virtually no need to cross roads/traffic as there are both underground and elevated walkways through the various shopping malls fronting the attraction. I would stay there again and Expedia did the business in getting me a good price for the room. The Chisun is part of quite a large and well regarded chain in the Far East and in my view is equally suitable for business and leisure travellers, it has good conferencing facilities, and it's location is superb.I doubt you could find much better for he room rate Expedia was able to offer.

“Aging hotel, absurdly small and not entirely clean bathroom”

This is an aging hotel. The bathroom was very small -- an insert, basically -- that was not well kept. The bedroom also was small with the odd arrangement of a bed not directly facing the television. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but far, far from the best. The rate, at least, was very reasonable, and it is close to Kobe Station -- though not Shin-Kobe (from where the Shinkansen departs).

“GREAT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE”

We picked this hotel due to its location to Kobe Station which is less than a 5 min walk to and from hotel, the low price via Expedia & free internet access in room. We stayed 5 nights. If you purchase a JR pass outside of Japan, then, you have access to a number of JR stops with easy access to & from Kobe Station. Highly recommend a visit to Akashi Kaikyo Bridge - JR Maiko Station. By pass the 7 Eleven downstairs at the hotel and go to the supermarket just past it (1 min walk). So, when you exit hotel on the main road (same street the Minotogawa Shrine is located) then, turn left. It's much larger than the one at the Kobe Station. As suggested by a previous review the only negative thing is the size of the bathroom which is why I have given it a rating of 4/5. My husband is 6'2 and the leg room when sitting on the toilet was challenging for him. Also, the room decor is a little outdated but that didn't bother us because it had air-con, small fridge & internet access. The hotel served our purposes and we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay at Chisun Hotel Kobe again.

“Great location and wonderful staff”

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very reasonably priced especially if you book through Expedia. It is very close to the Kobe central train station and you can get everywhere from that station. Also, I liked the area because it is near Sannomiya station (1-2 stops) , but it is not as hectic as that area. The staff was great. We enjoyed our room and had a view of the Minotogawa Shrine which is definitely worth visiting. It is within walking distance of Harborland. There is a wonderful grocery store at the train station. The rooms have refrigerators so we stocked up on food. Also there is a 7 Eleven in the basement of the hotel. There is an underground shopping area that can be accessed from the basement of the hotel and leads to the train station, so if it is raining, too hot, or too cold you can stay inside. When I go back to Kobe I will definitely stay at this hotel.

“Enjoyable hotel in a livable city”

The Chisun Kobe is a very decent, modern place that anyone can enjoy. We were surprised to find that it's located at the terminus of a small network of underground and above-ground retail/restaurant passages that extends right to the Harbor Town area. On the north it looks across to Minatogawa Shrine. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Of course the bathroom is characteristically Japanese--tiny and cramped, making you feel like you are in an RV--but the tub is nice and deep, and there is a second sink outside the bathroom area if you just want to wash hands.

“Besser als erwartet”

Ich habe mein Zimmer im Chisun-Hotel zu einem für Japan sehr günstigen Preis gebucht, und hatte eigentlich nicht viel erwartet. Das Hotel ist aber recht gut; mein Zimmer war ein bisschen klein, aber freundlich eingerichtet und sehr sauber; an das Badezimmer ganz aus Plastik musste man sich gewöhnen, aber das scheint in Japan so üblich zu sein. Besonders gut fand ich die Lage nur 5 min von der Kobe JR Station entfernt. Als ich angekommen bin, hat es gerade fürchterlich geregent; glücklicherweise konnte man das Hotel trockenen Fusses durch eine Untergrund-Einkaufspassge erreichen. Hilfreich wäre hier eine genauere Beschreibung der Lage des Hotels auf der Expedia-Seite gewesen (Das ist ein Tip zur Verbesserung des Services auf Expedia!).
