“Hotel staff knowledgeable, helpful -- would stay there again”

Hotel staff was very professional overall, from the desk staff to the servers in the restaurant. Maid service was excellent. I liked the washable duvet covers, as bedspreads are often the most germ-laden items in a hotel room. Lots of big towels and nice grooming items provided. Very small bathtub -- one of those one-piece fiberglass units; kept bumping my elbows in the shower, even with the U-shaped shower rod. Nice little workout room and indoor pool. We were forced by circumstances to eat three meals in the hotel -- the Thanksgiving buffet, one dinner, and one breakfast. Typical hotel food: presentation a little precious and outdated (e.g., soup in a bread bowl), just-adequate preparation, pricey. Minimal wine list. The service, however, was superb, making up considerably for the unexceptional food. High quality fruit preserves at breakfast were a nice surprise. Only total food disaster was the dreadful, overly sweet, weirdly thin and runny "vanilla" sauce for their signature bread pudding (which was okay, if a little dry). Great place to bunk. Wonderful staff. Suggest you eat elsewhere. :-)

“OK Stay”

Did seem a little old and tired, but location was good and price with Expedia discount was not too bad.

“Great Location”

We wanted a downtown experience, and we got it. This hotel was steps away from weekend events, coffee shops, excellent independent restaurants, museums, shopping, etc. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but we were never disturbed by the construction. We were lucky enough to receive one of the new rooms, and it was gorgeous. We can't say enough good things about the hotel staff, either. Everyone we encountered was polite, helpful, pleasant, welcoming, and handy with recommendations and directions. The only thing we really missed on this trip was a mini-fridge. We have a child, and a fridge would have been nice. Regardless, though, we would stay there again.

“Knoxville's Home away from Home!”

The Crown Plaza Knoxville has left a lasting impression, the room was spacious and clean. The Hotel staff was extremely professional and seem to enjoy their jobs. We would definitely recommend the Crown Plaza Knoxville.

“Great location, could walk to all shops and resturants we wanted to see.”

A little outdated, but very clean.Great service,very polite helpful staff. Did not sample the resturant. Skip wine in the bar 12.00 glass. We ate at several resturants nearby inMarket Square and dowtown area. All were great. We wer there for a tour of U.T. campus. Asked to stay high up,had great room.10th floor overlooking Market Square.A llot of sirens at night, but it is the city, firehouse is 1 block away.Would stay again.

Free trolley comes right to the hotel.
Shopping
Several small botique,quriky dress and gift shops in Market Square. Great mall was the Turkey Creek Mall about 20 min away on I - 40 West
Dining
Several great locally owned resturants.Cafe 4,has a nightclub attached for live bands. Tomatoe Head for pizza, salad,.several veg items. The Brewery resturant downtown, great sunday Jazz brunch.within walking distance,Also try the crepes at the French Market Last day, tried the Crown and Goose Pub in Old Town a few blocks from the hotel.Best burger ive ever had.
Nightlife
The square room at Cafe 4.Saw several bars,lookd busy but couldnt go in with my 17 yr old. Two great theaters in downtown, The Bijou. and a renovated regal 8 cinema but with great history preserved, and The Tennesee Theater which has shows such as Tom Jones, Steve Miller Band The college nightlife was on the strip near campus, saw several bars in the area.

“Great base for downtown Knoxville!”

We stayed here for two nights while visiting the University of Tennessee with our high school junior daughter. There are lots of great shops and eateries within a couple of blocks around the hotel. Market Square is a fantastic pedestrian area right across the street and Old City is just around the corner. The hotel is up to date, clean and comfortable. There's even a parking garage which is handy.
