After booking, I called Achill Guest House to enquire about parking and I had the pleasure of speaking to Mary to was very helpful and enthusiastic and even informed me of places I could eat that evening which was very kind of her (Re parking, there are 4 spaces on the drive which don't need to be booked in advance - there usually is a free space, but even if it is full, there is some safe on-street parking on the road opposite the guest house).
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mary who was once again very friendly and welcoming. She showed me to the rooms upstairs and gave me a choice of rooms. I settles for room 5 which has a double bed and a view out the front of the house. Mary told me everything I needed to know and asked what time I'd be having breakfast and that was that.
The room itself was wonderful, full of character without being overbearing. There were some lovely exposed beams, a nice size en-suite and an extra heater, in addition to the central heating. I found the bed very comfortable too and had a very peaceful nights sleep.
In the morning, I came down for breakfast which was lovely and I was able to watch my choice of TV whilst eating it.
In summary, I had a very nice and comfortable stay. I almost felt like I was staying at my aunts house or something which is so much nicer that feeling like you've stayed in a hotel and it's great value for money. I'll definitely be staying here again the next time I have an event at the NEC.
