Smokey

Posted 14-Jul-2015
I have only one thing to say about my stay. We stayed in a non-smoking room and the place stunk like some one had been smoking in the room since the hotel became a business. Not the smell I want to be lingering around with my 3 children in the room.

This was our 2nd stay and we would go there again.

Pros: The best accomodations for the price. 4-5 stars. Location
Cons: The elevator is small and awkward to fit the luggage cart and several people inside.
Location: . If you love getting outdoors, there are things to do year round, fishing ,hiking, explore lava caves, watch birds, river raft, rock hunting.
To get the best rate book in advance on-line. We arrived Monday night hungry and hot from the sweltering heat outside. By the time we we checked in and cooled off it was 8:45pm. We called room service. Even though they were due to close in 15 minutes we were able to get dinner. The BBQ ribs were great and the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. We made use of the indoor pool and hot tub after dinner. Its open 24/7. Another plus! Nothing tourist worthy in within reasonable walking distance, so you definately need a car. But you will need transportation to see all that the area has to offer anyway!

Pleased with the hotel facility

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: The room is very spacious and comfortable.
Cons: The room cleaning can be improved... We found the sink counter is a little dusty.
Location: Not much..... driving into town is around 10 - 15 mins.
I am happy with the room size, view and facility. However, we checked in before our friend and requested with the receptionist at the front desk to assign our friends room on the same floor we checked in. She noted and would take care of that. Surely when our friends checked in, there were assigned to a room on different floor and when we they asked for the same floor, she told them that rooms on that floor were sold out. That was really disappointed and not very accommodating. Beside this incident, the restaurant dinner service was slow too.

the only place for me

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, room size is great, easy access to everything in town
Cons: Could use more TV, but plenty of pay per view
Location: Very close to the south end of the lake, the university, and the hospital is walking distance. Some food walking gistance and more a short drive
Always the go-to place for us in K-Falls. Good location off the highway with fast food, the hospital, and Oregon Tech all walking distance. Easy drive to downtown and shopping or the lake. Nice hotel, clean, great staff. Breakfast is pretty good with hot food buffet and served in the restaurant next door rather than in the lobby so there is plenty of space. We always stay here (couple of times a year for the last few years) and the price on expedia is always great.

Clueless desk clerk, antiquated A/C, tired room.

Posted 02-Jul-2015
Pros: Price was competitive, location was quiet.
Cons: See comments above.
Location: OK in all respects.
The desk clerk was completely clueless about how to operate the remote control (!) for the A/C system and there was no user manual for it in the room. Hence we had to put up with a hot, stuffy room all night on one of the hottest nights of our trip. There was no "Guest Information" book in the room and no TV channel listing (we were told no rooms had them), so we had to try all channels on the TV to find one to watch. The night light was burned out. The whole room felt tired.

Decent hotel; definitely could use facelift

Posted 28-Jun-2015
Pros: The price, rooms were comfortable, convenient
Cons: food, update paint and carpet, nicer workout area
Location: not much
We stopped at the Shilo Inn on our way home from Oregon. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the price is right! The carpets are old and while they have a huge kitchen the food served for breakfast was mediocre at best. If you like biscuits and gravy you will enjoy it. If you are looking for fresh fruit and something healthy to eat with it, go somewhere else. We slept good and I would stay there again, I would just bring something else to eat.

Spacious rooms, very clean

Posted 16-Jun-2015
This was our first time in a Shilo, so we didn't know what to expect. Rooms are large and comfortable, grounds are beautiful, and the convenience of a restaurant on site was great as we are traveling with a dog. Will definitely stay at other Shilo Inns as we travel this part of the country.

Best of stay of 6 hotels on a 12-day road trip!

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Our only observation was that the restaurant and bar seemed under-staffed. Service was great but staffing was minimal compared to the # of patrons.
Warm and friendly staff - great amenities! They say your first impression is usually the one that sticks - we found this to be true. When our GPS failed to direct us to the right location we called the Shiloh Inn for directions and Sandy, the Manager was our "angel" on the phone guiding us to the Shiloh within minutes. The hotel lobby was inviting, the room was clean and well equipped, and the convenience of the restaurant and bar was a plus for weary travelers!
