"Hotel was great for a child-free weekend away to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had a hot tub room, which we used multiple times and were able to order cocktails from the bar directly to the hot tub! Spa was great too. 10 minute walk to Bowness and the lake (and lots of pubs, bars and restaurants), so the location was perfect."

"What a gem! I was so sad to leave the property! Everyone was so charming, the facilities were stunning and the art pieces surrounding the property were magical! Marco was the first person we met on a rainy night and he could not have been more gracious! We stayed in one of the cottages and it was such a beautiful ambiance! I will recommend this property to everyone! I would love to see just a few more dining options rather than only Michelin-level opportunities since you never want to leave the property, but you want some “comfort foods”. Just a suggestion! We will be back!"

"Really good, clean rooms, friendly staff, a view to die for, also really comfortable, it strikes the correct balance between being really homely and having everything you would need in a hotel room in this day and age without feeling outdated or tacky. "

"We had a wonderful time! The hotel is in a great location, a short drive into Kendal town centre. The gardens are lovely although it was a bit rainy so we didnt get to roam much! Check in was quick as we could do it online, reception team were lovely (the kids appreciated their activity packs!) Our room was clean and modern, comfy beds and beautiful bathroom. Also, we we were in the quiet area which was perfect. The pool was clean and warm, kids swim times which meant that we didnt feel as though we were disturbing the other swimmers. The gym is also well equipt and air conditioned. The bar area was good, the kids enjoyed their free lemonade! Breakfast was what you would expect, plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was fresh. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The accomodation was great but it was the little touches from the team that made the hotel stand out. We look forward to returning! "
