“Clean, helpful, and perfect for the young travelers who don't mind not being in central London”

We read hundreds of reviews when choosing our hotel. My husband and I wanted something that had free parking, was very clean, a bit outside of the city (didn't want to drive in downtown London). We live in Washington state, and it was our first time to the UK-- the Antoinette turned out to be perfect for us. The hotel room was small but extremely clean-- and the staff was incredibly helpful. It's about a 30 minute bus ride from Heathrow airport (the only way to get to the hotel, take the X26 bus). It's a 10 minute walk to the train station which gets you to downtown London (about a 15 minute ride on the fast train). Hampton court is also a train stop away, which was a nice surprise! Turned out to be just what we were looking for-- we didn't want to stay in a hostel (wanted our own bathroom) and were looking for something budget friendly. This hotel was exactly what we wished for. Overall, the rooms are pretty tiny (we stayed in a standard double) but it had a nice little flat screen tv, and a very clean little bathroom. Perfect! The only downside was that the mattresses were extremely hard and uncomfortable. However we were so worn out from exploring all day that it hardly mattered! The free internet was a nice plus as well. If we were going back to the UK, we would definitely stay there again. Totally worth it for the location and money.

“Its a Hotel room nothing more”

The Antoinette is a standard run of the mill hotel. The location is excellent and price-wise it was the cheapest around. It suited our purpose as we were just staying one night and only needed it as a base to change before a wedding at Hampton Court Palace. Food was available but only at certain times so we did not get to eat. The decor is, I would say Retro 70's but I don't think it has had a refit since 1978 so it's probably original. The staff were friendly and efficient and check in/out was effortless. The best thing about the hotel is that it has a private car park and is in a nice area so we didn't worry about the car. If you are staying in the area and want a base I would reccomend the Antionette. If you are looking for somewhere to spend your holiday I suggest paying the extra and getting something nicer.

“Very far from & expensive to get to London town centre.”

Very nice hotel, but very far & very expensive to get to/from London town. The nearest railway station to get into London town is about 15 minutes away, but on good roads/on good pavements/with good street lights. The neighbourhood is quite safe, but with no shops/restaurants nearby. But the hotel has its own restaurant and also food service at night. The nearest convenience shop is about 7 minutes away. There is no minibar but there is a kettle/tea bags/instant coffe/cups/spoons. The British buffet breakfast is separate, but quite filling and good, nothing exceptional, for me it fill me up until well after lunch.

“Great hotel at affordable price”

The Antoinette is a nice hotel with modern rooms, all the amenities and ample free parking. The staff is really helpful. The hotel has a bar and restaurant on site. Meals are reasonably priced and service is excellent. The rooms have a modern décor and are reasonably sized compared to the tin cans I had the pleasure to stay in while in the UK. I would definitely recommend this hotel as I will stay here again when I will be in London next time.

“Good base”

We have stayed at this hotel before but in the annex. Felt the old part is now in need of decorating and the squeeky floorboards need to be looked at. We would use it as a base again as its only a 10-15min walk into town and the railway station for easy access to Twickenham or London. There is also a nice pub at the end of the road. We paid for a superior room but it was a very small room! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the hotel.

“WE will return again Summer of 2011”

This is a nice hotel to stay in for mature travellers. We found everyone on the staff very friendly and helpful. This is out of the way from Central London, but my wife and I had no problems getting into London by commuter train. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood near the University and we felt very comfortable walking the streets at night. There is also Parking on the streets, with meters and the hotel has its own lot which our friends used when they picked us up to go to Hampton Court, which is very nice to visit. Everything was all set when we were ready to depart on New Years Day and they arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the hotel to make a 9:00 plane. we were pleased with our visit.

“Underwhelming Experience”

After watching the fireworks of New Year's Eve 2010, I returned to the hotel room at around 1:30am. Ran the water to take a shower, but there was no hot water. Tried for about 5 minutes, still no hot water. Informed front desk, someone came up and did the same thing, still no hot water. Offered to let me shower in another room, went down to check on it, then returned and said I could actually stay in another room for the night, until they squared away the problem. He said he personally checked the hot water, and it was fine. Packed up all my things, moved to the new room, and unpacked. It was noticeably smaller, TV, fixtures, etc. older than my original room. I went to run a shower, and guess what? No hot water. Called front desk again, he came up, tried it out, said he checked and it was working fine earlier. He left and came back with another solution: take me to their sister hotel in Wimbledon to stay for the night. I said I'd rather just go back to my original room - bigger, more comfortable, less hassle than being transported to another hotel. Went back to my original room, feeling frustrated, tired, and unclean. Checked the hot water, for fun, for spite, for whatever reason, and it was working. So, 3 hours later, I took finally took a hot shower. Some amenities weren't available: the hotel bar was closed the whole time, and the restaurant only served breakfast, no dinner service. I wasn't made aware of these things when I made my reservations.
