Needs a ton of work

Posted 20-Mar-2015
Pros: The location
Cons: Major renovations needed
Location: Glorias is a must ! The fried fish and bammy is awesome !
This hotel has potential but requires a ton of renovations before that potential can be realized. The location is very convenient and close to the airport. The included breakfast is simply fruits (2 slices of watermelon and a slice of cantaloupe), egg and bread. The didn't have butter, they ran out. The beds were very hard, small and uncomfortable. The AC sounded like truck and kept us awake all night. Luckily we were only there for 1 night, I could not have tolerated another night. The only positive comment I have about my overnight in Port Royal was our dinner at Glorias. That place is amazing and the fish is outstanding.

No solution for our claim

Posted 13-Mar-2015
We had a very bad experience in this hotel. The staff were really inexperience. The rooms are renovated and clean but there is no possibility of having natural ventilation but the air conditioner. The bar didn't allow to leave the tab open so it is necessary to pay every day separate. We were ok with that but the last day we leave the hotel to go to the beach and because the hotel didn't offer a save place we leave our lougage in the office as it was suggested by the receptionists and we get our money stollen from our bags. Five days later we haven't receive an answer from the hotel.

Quiet days

Pros: Quiet, relaxing.
Cons: Getting the spa ready and weekend entertainment.
Location: Just the usual things like boats and caves
Was a very quiet resort, relaxing. The staff seem to want to please.

Pros: Leaving was the best part.
Cons: It is a run down hotel, even by Jamaica standards. I stayed since it was close to the airport, the room was more like a hostel than a hotel room.
Location: near airport, but drive an extra 5 minutes to avoid this place.
AWFUL in every way. Took an hour to check in(no line, just seemed to wait to see who shows up to start getting rooms ready). Put me in this hole in the wall room. No desk, dresser, lamp, phone, nightstand or cable tv. It had 2 double beds, a plastic patio chair for a nightstand and a old tv that got two fuzzy over the air channels? One working outlet in the entire room, including the bath. Room was filled with mosquitoes. doors to outside patio didn't lock, bathroom door was missing door handle/lock. Peephole was a hole in the door. This was the Deluxe room I paid extra for? Restaurant was mediocre at best.

Great place to go if you want to lay back and relax. Rooms are very comfortable and the staff is great. Food takes a while when you order but it's decent. Best jerk chicken burger ever!

Excellent hotel at great price

Posted 09-Feb-2015
My wife and i had a great stay. Not only is the staff friendly but also very helpful. This was our first trip to jamaica so we were a bit lost. They helped direct us with cost of cabs vs the bus system, when it comes, where to go and whatnot. the menu at the hotel is great. The inclisive package is definitely worth it. Anything we wanted to order excluding lobster and shrimp.fine with me, lots to choose from. Still want to get their rum punch recipe. Very good. Atmosphere is tropical and laid back. I want to go back soon. Thanks to all staff at the grand port royal!!!!!

Pros: It's right on the water with a clear veiw across the the Ocean It's quite and tucked away from the crowed
Cons: The whole Plumbing System need to be overhaul
Location: Everything else is great. sightseeing, fishing, boating and much more
The hotel is fantastic needs a good engineering team that can solve problems without making the guest uncomfortable, I would honestly say that those people knows nothing about running a maintenance dept. The water went off the day I checked in and for us to get some water we had to go to the front desk and ask I know they should be supplying us with water the moment they saw there was a problem with the water this lasted for 2 days. Hotel needs a proper maintenance staff.

Fantastic location, slow service

Posted 28-Dec-2014
The hotel was in a great location and has a wonderful view of the harbour. Unfortunately, the staff was very slow and unhelpful with most things as I needed to ask 3-4 times. Broken coffee pot, wrong beds and a super breakfast!
