I went to a wedding here and stayed for two nights. All the staff that i encountered were pleasant and helpful. It was a beautiful surrounding to a beautiful city and i am already considering booking again for next year
Checked in at 21:20 after a long day of travel and although the restaurant was closed the barman arranged some chicken sandwiches and salad for us to have for supper. The room was nice and clean and big enough. Only I found the bed a little uncomfortable, basic mattress. The breakfast the following morning was very good and the staff were helpful when we asked for directions to our next location. Kilkenny is lovely and would recommend a visit to the Smithwicks Brewery. This was a good hotel to start our Honeymoon off at.
Been somewhat a regular anytime I'm in Kilkenny, witch may be Three or Four times a year on Business.
Welcoming atmosphere on arrival, Staff very pleasant, Clean well maintained reception.
Remaining sections of the hotel follow this trend.
Food in the restaurant very appetizing.
Comfortable room and bed, slept like a log, did not want to leave it when morning arrived.
Overall very nice.
Book early to avoid refusal as many tours use the hotel, which is also a good sign.
It was a pleasure to stay at Ballilogue Clochán. A very pretty inn, lovely people and lovely breakfast. We also had the pleasure of dining one evening which was very special. It was a place for great rest and relaxation. The only thing that we were hoping for was a desk in the room and possibly wireless internet in the room, but really, there was wireless in the breakfast room and sitting room so it was not an inconvenience. We hope to return again.
By the way, the shop and museum that is part of the original house of Mrs Meany, the last owner before current, is a must see. It is a very historic picture of country life. It is wonderful that Patrick, owner/proprietor, preserved the space. If you are looking for some special Irish items to take home, Patrick has a great eye of picking some of the best Irish gifts, pottery, baskets and knitwear that I have seen.
