“Excellent place to stay in Kiev”

The people at Hotel Oselya bent over backwards to make sure I had a pleasant stay while I was in Kiev. The hotel is spotless and my room was completely remodeled and very comfortable and the reception worked extra hard to make sure I was comfortable and also arranged a half-day tour for me. Breakfast was excellent and included in the price of the room and if I ever return to Kiev, I will definitely stay there. The only drawback is that it's not in the middle of the city center, so you have to take a cab to/from the hotel but the will call one for you and the receptionist even walked outside and talked to the cab driver to make sure he knew where to take me-- and also made sure I didn't get overcharged! The + is that the neighborhood very quiet and you get to see a "real" neighborhood. There are so many great places of historic and cultural interest in Kiev and the hotel can arrange a tour of the city for you, which I highly recommend as Kiev is big and spread out and it would be difficult to see everything without a guide.

Cleanliness and comfort of the room 5/5 The breakfast was very good and ready on time. The Service of the two wonderful girls who work at the hotel was perfect. They did a lot to help us. I recommand this hotel to everyone who wants to discover Ukraine.

“Small can be best as Hotel Oselya proves”

Hotel Oselya is a small hotel about 25 minutes from the centre of Kie by taxi. What the hotel lacks in size it makes up for with extremely good customer service, with friendly helpfull staff, the personal touches you can`t get from big hotels, very good breakfasts, a choice of 3 that all have names such as full till lunch. Each room has a name, the rooms are clean , well maintained, and the shower puts many larger hotels to shame! The taxi journey to the city centre costs about £6 when booked by the hotel but if you just get a taxi back from the street the cost can be between £6-£11.. I would stay in the hotel again and would recommend Hotel Oselya to others!

“A Great Home away from Home”

Oselya Hotel is one of the hidden gems of the Ukraine. If you want to stay in a plastic environment go to one of the chain hotels. If you want to really enjoy local hospitality at its best, yet maintain your privacy, the Oselya is for you. The hotel ownership and staff are incredably helpful and knowledgable. They truly make you feel like family.. So interested in pleasing their guests and meeting they needs. What a great team. The staff helped us each day find hidden gems around Kiev and arranged no hassle and inexpensive transportation. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, breakfast tasty, and the hotel itself, quite quiet and relaxed.

“Great people and rooms, just not the ideal location”

I read the reviews and everyone else was right. It's a "guest house" located outside the city center. Most taxi drivers did not know it, so I had to have the address written to show them. The service staff are excellent, the room was beautiful (we stayed in the big room on the top floor - big, spacious, very nice). Breakfast was good, staff was accommodating and helpful and gave us everything we asked for. I hate to say anything bad because the people were so nice, but the location of this hotel just isn't convenient. I had stayed in the Hotel Rus the week before, and the location of it was good - they had a bar, restaurant, ATM machines, money change service, concierge, taxi service on-site and it was with a short walk to downtown Kiev. But the rooms were very small. So, if you prefer a more home-style environment, if a nice room and friendly staff and don't mind taking a taxi every time you need to go somewhere, Oselya is great. If you prefer more services inside the hotel (restaurant, bar, club, etc), or if you want to be more centrally located, Oselya won't be the best choice.

* Great Staff: Friendly, helpful, English speaking * Tastefully designed rooms that are very comfortable. * Breakfast choices from hearty to light fare. Delicious! * Suggested a great local restaurant. Kozachok was a five-minute walk and had delicious Ukrainian fare in a beautiful outdoor setting. * Contacted us before our arrival with offers to help us in any way. Met us at the train station and took us to the airport for a reasonable fee. * Location is not the greatest. Suggest taking a taxi to the nearest Metro station and then navigate the city. Nearest Metro stop is at least a half hour walk away on a very busy highway. Taxi fare ran about $7. Even with this expense this hotel is a great value!

“Best Small Hotel in Kiev”

The Hotel Oselya was a nice change from the normal Ukrainian Hotels. The staff was very friendly and spoke some English. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was excellent and was cooked to order with three different selections of their standard breakfast. The Hotel is a little out of the way but they are able to arrange transportation to and from the hotel. I arrived by train from Simferopol and they met me at my train car and assisted in handling the baggage to their car. Overall the stay was very pleasant and I would recommend this hotel highly.
