“ASz”

Good hotel, comfortable but smallish room as it is a boat permanently docked. The breakfast is brilliant, staff is really friendly. The location is good in the summer but otherwise far from the sights and the city centre. Good value for money.

“Great surpise .”

Hidden in back street gem! Room good size and very comfortable. Staff extremely helpful. Food at breakfast supplied very good. Some confusion regarding what shuttle supplied ( led to believe available if called upon arrival, but only for those with 3 day stay) but van service not that costly. Would definitely recommend and return!

Area recommendations
This hotel was within walking distance to river, shopping street and public transportation. Neighborhood seemed safe and charming with eateries, grocery stores, etc available.

“Good Views”

The Bakkara has great views overlooking the Dnipro river. It was very relaxing just watching the river activities. The breakfast was very good and had plenty of variety. All the staff were very helpful The room was quite compact but for one night was suffice for our needs, if staying longer I think it would have been a bit small. The shower was very compact but the shower water flooded the whole floor and it remained wet for the whole evening.

“Bakkara is a mixed bag, over all good”

excellent location to public transportation, service staff excellent, facilities ok; i.e. walls rather thin, lots of spiders on outside of this converted ship. Great views on the river side. Excellent breakfast, water in room smelled like the river, otherwise a smart choice.

Area recommendations
Downtown with ample shopping restaurants museums and views along the river.

“Great value floating hotel”

This hotel is aboard a large boat, which is docked by the Hydropark metro station. The rooms are compact, but satisfactory. The bathrooms were fine, but the water from the shower flooded its floor. The breakfast was included and was a decent start to the day. The city centre can either be reached by taxi or by the local metro station, which is accessed through the nearby park. We always travelled by metro in the day (ten minute walk and 7 minute commute) and caught a taxi home at night (costs around 50-80 local currency). The hotel has a bar and restauant (pretty expensive but very nice for a one off) and an erotic nightclub, which we didn't visit (honest dear!!). If you don't mind being slightly out of town this place is spot on and we would all return (5 blokes from Brum and 1 from the big smoke). Would be a good choice for the Euro Championships (if we qualify!!).

“"Would like to go back"”

Only 1/2 hour taxi drive from Borispil Airport, with hotel able to book taxi on your behalf(on our return),at discounted rates from inward taxi service available. Metro station 15 minute walk from hotel. Efficient service albeit very cramped, with "rush hour" evident all day but,cheap. Reception staff willing to help but, English only spoken by few. Room clean,toilet/shower small but,efficient. "Continental Breakfast" adequate - seemed to cater more for an Eastern European palet but, cereal, yoghurt & toast was available,although the two slice toaster was very slow. Hotel entertainment poor, although two "acts" were provided but, both "mimed" to accompanying laptop background music. Would like to return next year but,told by reservation staff that hotel fully booked for Euro 2012 Football Tournament.

Area recommendations
All of Kiev is available to visit via the Metro service,and we found it efficient but cramped. We travelled along all three lines, from Petrivka to Palats Ukraina on the blue line, from Zoloti Vorota Kharkivska on the green line, and from Shuliavska to Hidropark on the red line, and waited less than five minutes on any line,for any train during the day;although by 11 o'clock there were less available(every 20-30 minutes).

“Good view”

Nice hotel which is in a ship by the riverside having a very good view. Food in the restaurant is nice too.

Area recommendations
It is near a metro station which is Hidropark. It takes 10 mins by foot. Neighbourhood is not good,as the location is out of the city center.
Dining
There is a very tradictional restaurant near Meiden *** station. The decoration is very Ukrainian.

“It was”

Well, everything's great. The location, friendly staff, nice restaurant and great room. And the view out of the window - perfect (we had a room with river view)!!! The only thing, that dissapointed me a little, was the cleaning of the room. But our friends in the next room had no problem with that.

“I would personally not choose this hotel again”

On a positive note the hotel was clean, rooms were nice and well presented, reception staff are nice, the breakfast is ok, and its nice to be on the Dnipro river. But it ends there. Rooms are too noisy on the 1st floor, beds in twin rooms are so small you'll fall off the bed if u turn around. Bathrooms are too small and impractical. Breakfast staff are rude. Location was the biggest bone of contention. Its in a horrible suburb, the surrounding area seems to be inhabited by gypsies, no signs to the hotel, too long to walk from Hidropark metro station to the hotel, the road/path is not suitable for wheely cases. Though my stay was not bad, I would not stay here again.

Area recommendations
Not this one, I was in Hidropark and though it was only 3 stops away from Independence Sq, the area was awful, pay a bit more and stay in the centre.

“NO WAY WOULD I STAY AGAIN”

SHIP HAS A LOUD NOISE SO NO ONE CAN SLEEP-IF YOU ASK FOR A ROOM CHANGE THEY WILL SELL YOU ANOTHER ROOM FOR MORE MONEY THAT MIGHT BE NOT SO LOUD--DO NOT STAY THERE--IF YOU BOOK AND WANT TO CHANGE THEY JUST KEEP YOUR MONEY -BREAKFAST WAS GOOD BUT NEVER AGAIN
