Very poor for a village hotel

Posted 02-Jul-2015
This hotel is in dire need of renovation. Black sticky tape is used to join carpet together in corridors, rooms look tired and severely lacking TLC. One of my biggest disappointments was the breakfast. The scrambled egg was dark grey/black in places and solid in texture the rest of the food seemed to have left out for a while as it was awful. I stuck with the fruit in the end. The service by the reception staff was poor from the word go. The only saving grace was the bar staff, three girls who were very good and attentive to the customers. All in all i have to visit this area on business quite a lot going forward and i will not be staying at The Village hotel, Maidstone again

Cons: Speed of service at reception and a smile would have been nice.
Location: Convenient for actress off motorway but a taxi ride away from station and city centre
Hotel was convenient for one night stay. I also have to complement the hotel on phoning guests to advise that they had a problem with the TV system. But I found the service at reception a bit slow with staff wondering around not offering to serve the growing queue. Also vacuuming the stairs is not a good thing when guests are going up and down to breakfast. Cables could easily be tripped over

A v.reasonable hotel for a v.reasonable price.

Posted 24-Mar-2015 on Hotels
This hotel is v.reasonably priced. The rooms are v.spacious for the rate you pay. Breakfast here is a v.good range of foods. It's close to the M20 and even though that is a v.busy road it doesn't make the rooms v.noisy with the sound of cars. What is v.annoying is the v.drunk people who congregate in the smoking area outside and make a v.large amount of noise. This is heard in the room v.easily. The staff are v.polite and checking in and out is a v.swift process.

Reasonable accomodation, good gym

Posted 16-Mar-2015 on Hotels
Generally good place to stay for a business trip overnight - best feature is the on site gym. Room was quite noisy (but understandable being near the motorway) - could do with an update - a bit tired and grubby in places and the bed was not particularly comfortable. Staff were friendly both reception and restaurant and the food was above average.

CLEANLINESS

Posted 06-Mar-2015 on Hotels
The room had what looked like tea or coffee stains splashed over the walls at the side of the bed. Large chips out of the wall. The seal around the bath and the grout needed cleaning. THE FLOOR WAS FILTHY, WE HAD TO LEAVE TOWELS ON THE FLOOR WHICH WHEN WERE LIFTED WERE COVERED IN A BROWN STAIN FROM THE GROUT. DISGUSTING!!!!!
