“Rubbish!”
When you say Marriott Hotel you would expect a certain level of quality in which was not present when I checked in (February 2011). What I mean was that I had booked a King size bed to share with my partner and was then told that I had to make do with a 2 single bed room and that nothing more could be done. Was not happy at all, no sorry, no customer service!
“OK FOR A SHORT BREAK”
Our room was very clean and comfortable with the exception of the central heating which was off on arrival and when we turned it on it was not possible to control it. It was too hot when on for any length of time so we had to turn it off when going out and put it on again on our return. The breakfast was very good, wide choice of everything on offer. The food offered at dinner in the Conical Grill was overpriced. It was well presented and cooked but one slice of smoked salmon plus a dob of creme fraiche was £9.50. Each additional portion of veg was £3.50, the meals came only with potatoes of some kind and garnish, you had to buy the veg.. Desserts were nice but pricey. The bars were also expensive and after 11pm you cannot pay with cash, you register your cred/deb card and £50 is taken immediately but any unused funds are credited on departure. We asked for a newspaper on the Saturday only and got one on Sunday too, we asked for a replacement bulb for the desk lamp but never got one. Service was a bit shaky. Having stayed in hotels of similar quality abroad we thought the Tudor Park was ok for a couple of nights and comfortable enough but pricey regarding meals and drink. We found 2 lovely, very old pubs in nearby Bearstead village (very pretty), the Oak on the Green and The White Horse - food was plentiful and very reasonably priced, lovely atmospheres in both and they were buzzing, get there early to find a table.
“Not that impressed!”
Surprised that for an american chain the TV in our room was a big old box with only the main terrestial channels and sky sports - no freeview - so my teenager was extremly dissapointed. Rooms have a very noisy air vent in bathrooms too! Resturaunts and bar also a tad pricey! 6.15 for a medium glass of nothing special white wine (served warm as well!). Pool was ok but jacuzi had a number of non functioning jets! Also, watch the reception staff. Having booked and paid in advance on expedia, the receptionist tried to charge me the full price again when we arrived!
“Fantastic Hotel”
Tudor Park is one of the best hotels I have stayed in in this country. The staff were very helpful, the hotel and rooms we immaculate and comfortable. Highly recommended.
“Tudor Park leuke ligging/ goede verlichting 's avonds”
- prima bedden, doch te zachte kussens - prima ontbijt, doch geen keuze in vleeswaren/ kaas - redelijke keuken m.b.t. diner, doch ongezellige ambiance c.q. weinig sfeer
“Un bel hôtel mais un service un peu décevant.”
Accueil sans caractère du personnel et service de table au dîner plutôt médiocre. La tenue de la chambre est excellente mais qui, de son côté, était dépourvue de la vue annoncée sur le golf (une rangée d'arbres l'occultait) et qui pourtant avait "justifié" un prix plus élevé....
