Searching the perfection.

Canterbury is a perfect place for people that love searching for soul relif. All of you will find it there. Parks, river, amazing buildings as far as from XV century.

Lovely older hotel

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Pros: Not too expensive; good value for the money. Front desk staff went out of their way to satisfy.
Location: Took a cab from Canterbury East train station and was less than 5 pounds. Walked into town center several times. Was a pretty walk and no trouble.
Booked on the web and very pleased with our choice. Nice neighborhood, lovely staff. We had a family-sized room so it was very spacious. Breakfast was just a little extra and well worth it. Huge bed which was very comfortable. We are very glad that we happened to choose the Victoria.

Location: Near downtown Canterbury, plenty of attractions nearby. Shopping nearby also.

Good Choice for Family Stay

Posted 27-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Pleasant family friendly hotel. Everything good .... some confusion over the inclusion of breakfast in the room rate but to be fair the guys behind the reception desk quickly sorted this out. Beds very soft but room clean, large (we had a family room with 4 beds). Furniture in the room a little bit tired. Restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Location is good (15 mins to central Canterbury and the train station on foot). Spent one pleasant day in London which was < 1 hour away by train. All in all I'd say job well done to the staff at the Victoria Hotel.

Comfortable for a night or two.

Posted 26-Apr-2015 on Hotels
The hotel's decor is tired and they could do with new carpets throughout and general redecoration but it is clean, the staff are all very helpful, you get a good breakfast (though make sure your room rate includes it, otherwise you pay extra), there is plenty of parking and it is in a convenient location, though by a roundabout on a main route into Canterbury so there is traffic noise. They do have some rooms overlooking the garden, but then you get guests coming and going from the car park past your window. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is no lift. There is a bar and restaurant. It is Ok for a night or two but if you are looking for a nice holiday or romantic break you would probably want to stay somewhere a bit smarter.

Excellent stay at the Victoria Hotel

Posted 24-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Excellent stay as always. Have been staying regularly at this hotel since 1995 and have always found the rooms very comfortable and immaculate. The staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to ensure clients enjoy their stay. The breakfast is really impressive and the best we have ever had in a hotel anywhere in the UK and Europe, as is the carvery and grill restaurant which is one of our favourites.
