Lovely older hotel

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Pros: Not too expensive; good value for the money. Front desk staff went out of their way to satisfy.
Location: Took a cab from Canterbury East train station and was less than 5 pounds. Walked into town center several times. Was a pretty walk and no trouble.
Booked on the web and very pleased with our choice. Nice neighborhood, lovely staff. We had a family-sized room so it was very spacious. Breakfast was just a little extra and well worth it. Huge bed which was very comfortable. We are very glad that we happened to choose the Victoria.

Good hotel, 20 mins from cathedral, about worth it

Posted 09-Apr-2015
Pros: Very nice inside with plenty on room. Dinner is good.
Cons: Being honourable about offers and of course Expedia's involvement in this. Warn people of the difficulties in finding this place.
Location: It' s Canterbury the old town and the famous cathedral but the hotel is in walkable distance if the weather is ok.
Bad experience was that Expedia offered free breakfast but neither they nor the hotel would honour it (the hotel management knew of the offer but clearly couldn't care). This seems most dishonourable possibly illegal in Australia. It is also a very difficult place to find. The numbers in this street more or less are in random order. No one warns you of this. The staff were not interested in us because we were there before their booking in time. They made us go away. Once you get beyond this and the fact that you are a good 20 minutes walk from the Cathedral its about worth the price but not a bargain.

Brilliant Victoria Hotel

Brilliant, bed a little too soft for our tastes, restaurant really good and the breakfast had everything you could ask for, added bonus Canterbury centre is only 5 mins away

FRIENDLY HOTEL WITH GOOD PARKING FACILITIES

Posted 20-Mar-2015
Pros: The atmosphere, the parking facilities and the restaurant.
Cons: If no shower rooms available to have grab handles higher up on the walls as well as on the bath. Internet reception which believe is being upgraded.
Location: Shopping in Canterbury or Faversham. Canterbury Cathedral. Bus stops nearby.
The hotel was not too far away from the town with bus stops within walking distance. The staff made you feel welcome and there was a nice relaxed air about the place. The breakfasts were extremely good with a choice of continental or a cooked breakfast done to perfection. The restaurant was also good for lunch and dinner. There was a big TV in the room with tea and coffee making facilities together with biscuits and a hot chocolate. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean.

Quaint hotel.

Great hotel for a short stay. The bed was comfy and the room had enough space for all our luggage! It was a little outside of the main center of Canterbury but we did not mind walking. The hotel did not serve breakfast but had a restaurant attached if we need to grab a bite. Canterbury has so many great little cafes that we enjoyed trying new places. Over all was a much better experience then out very small London Hotel. Would stay here again!
