A very warm welcome from Connor on our arrival, we stayed in the seaside suite and it was lovely. Bright and airy with a separate (but adjoining) room for the kids and big bathroom, perfect for a relaxing soak. We had a slight misshap with our bathroom plumbing but Connor went above and beyond to fix it. Had one of the best sticky toffee puddings I've ever tasted at dinner (honesty, SO good!). Breakfast was tasty and Olivia was equally charming and hospitable to us as we checked out. All in all, a really nice break by the seaside and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Definitely going to stay again.

Friendly welcome and service. Comfortable smallish room (Church view-but also a busy road..). Good shower. Some 'fussy' furnishings. Breakfast was poor: no fruit or yoghurts, very few cereals; little choice of bread. Cooked part saved the day! Overall, perfectly ok for a night or two. But hotel needs to sharpen up its act for the price.

Friendly stay in a period hotel.
An ancient inn so interesting, quirky, but quite small room. There was a big cupboard for clothes and suitcase, but once we put the 6 huge cushions and large bedspread in it there was no room left for clothes. Reducing the number of cushions or replacing the bedside tables with bedside chests would improve storage space. It was nice to have a bath and a shower, but there were no hooks on which to hang clothes while using them. There was no shelf space in the bathroom so we had to balance toiletries precariously on the back of the toilet. Rather risky. A shelf by the mirror would be very helpful. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food for breakfast and evening meals was excellent, despite the breakfast buffet being reduced by Covid restrictions.

Quaint and lovely B&B
The Ship Inn was clean, with hand sanitizer available everywhere. Staff were very respectful towards Covid measures and always checked if we wanted our room cleaned (or if we needed anything). The downstairs dining/pub was cosy. The pub food was delicious, and the English breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day. The room was small, but had everything we needed. The best part of the experience were the friendly hotel staff. Highly recommend a stay here! If we ever find ourselves in Dymchurch again, we'll definitely be staying here again. :)

Lovely weekend away
We loved it. We stayed in church view, room 4. The staff were all welcoming, polite, friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. We stayed for two nights and were asked if we needed anything, how was our room, how was our stay on a few occasions. We had breakfast provided both mornings and it was lovely. They change your table round each morning do you get a different view which is very thoughtful. We also had our evening meal in the restaurant on one of the nights, we hadn’t booked and they still managed to find us some space. It is clearly popular as the tables were all reserved around us. The sticky toffee pudding was lovely, and our mains were also fab. The room was also good, blackout curtains made it darker and there was a fan provided to help cool the room down (we went on a particularly warm couple of days). There was a shower and bath, plus shower gel, shampoo provided as well as water and tea and coffee in the room. The only thing you need to be aware of, which wasn’t a problem for us at all, is the building itself is old and quirky. This means the stairs to the bedrooms are a bit historic and therefore uneven, if you find stairs tricky, these are not for you. Otherwise we found them very giggle-worthy (especially if you’ve had a couple of beverages) 😆 Thanks for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended you to others and hope to come back soon.

Great beach getaway.
We chose the Ship Inn as a last minute getaway destination for the May Bank Holiday. The staff were very welcoming, the room was comfortable and the pub was equally welcoming. The COVID measures in place made us feel very comfortable about making this our first overnight night stay since the October. The location is just a stone's throw from the magnificent beach at Dymchurch. We'd higly recommend this hotel.

Great service, accommodation and food.
Great service - friendly and helpful. 'Stayed in the Seaside suite which has two rooms and an ensue bathroom. Very well decorated and clean. The only downside was the beds in the second room - too hard to sleep on. Apart from that, the suite is excellent. The bar and restaurant downstairs is great - good food, prompt service, great atmosphere. The beach (and famous sea wall) is a very short walk away. It's a sandy beach - probably great in summer, definitely bracing and enjoyable in winter!.

A short break in Dymchurch.
Had 4 days visiting family 3 minutes away, just along the lane. 4 minutes walk(if that) from a lovely, sandy beach. 500 year old pub, therefore a little quirky ..as in slightly sloping floor, and appropriate decor. As we were off with family first thing every day, we, unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to enjoy the recommended full English breakfast for a bargain price of £5 extra per adult. Lovely landlady Elaine. Comfortable 4 nights sleep. Good value for money. Will definitely stay again. Thank you very much !

Disappointing Hotel
We stayed at the Ship Inn for 2 nights, the room had an awful smell which we weren't sure what it was, but was very unpleasant. The kettle in the room was full of limescale so couldn't even have a cup of tea in the morning. We had to share a bathroom which was equally shabby and needed some attention, with a mouldy shower curtain and old paint work peeling off in places. Wouldn't recommend this place, for a budget stay your better off in a travel lodge or something along those lines. When we left the receptionist was fairly rude, she was sat on her computer and

Not Worth a 2nd visit!
I arrived to find the door locked at 4.30pm so had to wait 30 mins to be able to check in after 270 ml drive! Things just went downhill when I was shown my room. The walls had recently been redecorated, the old fashioned fittings , soft mattress , bathroom without shower cubicle or curtain with a none opening window and tiny wall mounted TV were not the quality I was expecting for the £65/ night.

Good for overnight before Dover
We booked this for an overnight stay before taking an early Dover-Calais ferry. Disappointed when we arrived. No one to help us at reception, the staff that eventually talked to us didn't seem familiar with the check-in process. No record of the table we'd booked at the restaurant - which was fully booked - but we were able to have food from the basic menu in the back room - which was OK. Breakfast server too late to have if you want to catch the 8:25 ferry. Ample parking (Saturday night). Room and ensuite clean and acceptable but nothing special.

Weekend Disaster
Booked double ensuite room on internet, about to leave home a couple of hours later and received phone call from hotel to say that the room booked was not available but a room with 2 single beds and shared bathroom was available.Decided to accept the revised booking (big mistake). Arrived late afternoon and allocated Room 7 up a very steep curved staircase in the roof of the hotel. Only one small overnight bag so not too much of a problem to drag the bag up the staircase.Unpacked and went to bar for a drink and a meal which was OK. Went up to bed awoke at 3am to find the kettle was missing from the room so could not make tea or coffee. Went down for breakfast which was edible but contained a cheap rubbery sausage and left. In life you get what you pay for I suppose but the place could be a lot better with a little attention to detail. Myself and my partner both have a good sense of humour and had a smile and a kiss on the drive home.

Good hotel for families.
Although the facilities are a little dated the room was clean and tidy, and the beds comfortable. The en suite was a little tired and rather cramped, but adequate. It was surprisingly quiet in the evening considering it's an inn. Breakfast was excellent and catered well for children. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the beach so it's great for kids. The legendary Dr Syn is much in evidence to the considerable interest of our two sons.
