Tired and run down

Posted 19-Dec-2014
Okay for a night but this Hilton it's rather tired. The bath tap leaked (wasting water and noisy) there was tissue over the ceiling sprinkler for some reason. Pillows hard and lots of traffic noise. Needs a refurb in rooms and public areas. Staff were good and helpful.

Perfect hotel for non expensive weekends away.

Posted 08-Dec-2014
We were looking for something quite cheap, clean and within walking distance of the town centre. This hotel provided all of that and a bit more. On the first night we got room service and while the food was hardly 5 stars, it filled a hole. We had a couple of problems - they forgot a lasagna and brought a glass of win rather than a bottle - however, they were sorted quickly and they gave us the lasagna for free. The room was great, even had a sitting area for watching the TV and in general everything was just good.

Noisy. Walls seemed very thin.

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: Good value and pub in walking distance with more atmosphere than hotel restaurant.
Cons: Everything looking a bit tired. Staff could be much more informative about car park barrier !
Location: Good for shopping in Maidstone and nice pub nearby.
Could hear people coughing in next room as well as people walking past door.

Grand hôtel à 5 minutes du centre ville

Posted 03-Nov-2014

Great for a break away.

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: Swimming pool and Breakfast
Cons: Pillows and buffet evening meal
Location: We were there for a sports competition so happy to be in hotel when free.
A short break away as a mum with 2 kids. Hotel lovely and clean with lots of space to sit and have a cup of coffee. Swimming pool made it a wonderful break. Big enough to have races and a good play. Buffet dinner more than a bit disappointing - very bland. We did notice later that you could get meals in the bar that looked pretty good. However the breakfast more than made up for it. Very tasty - almost too good and my son got to make his own waffles - he was in heaven. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Sad to say main issue was the pillows were the worst I've ever had and did not allow for much sleep - easy remedy - take your own I guess.

Max Pollio was our Concierge, he was very helpful and friendly! The hotel could use a little updating , but it was very clean and comfortable.
