Wedding party of my son and new daughter-in-law

Posted 22-Jan-2015
Pros: Banqueting and business facilities good.
Cons: See remarks about heating, decorations, etc.
Location: Not used
Hotel very pleasing in appearance, although some paintwork in guestrooms looks tired and needs attention; - public areas extremely cold (did hit a cold spell, but they should have been prepared!) No lift, and this caused difficulty - I am over 80. Advertise free internet - but no computers available to use and our age-group do not all have smartphones! They did try to please!

I always stay at Hiltons but this experience was very poor. Dirty room, heater and toilet not working properly! Unpleasant experience overall.

Hotel muy agradable para largas estancia

Posted 02-Jan-2015

Good access to motorways. Very noisy room.

Posted 01-Jan-2015
Pros: The room was supplied with complimentary shower gel and soap etc. The towels were very fresh and good quality.
Cons: Bed needs to be replaced. Bath and shower need to be replaced. Soundproofing needs improvement.
Location: Overnight stopover only.
We booked in advance and specifically requested a ground floor room due to difficulty walking. We checked in after 11:00 pm. and were directed to a first floor room. The receptionist, whilst being very professional, did not have a good standard of english. Eventually we managed to turn his attention to our 'ground floor' request and he gave us a room on that level. I walk with a stick, with some difficulty and the room given to us must have been the furthest point from the lobby. Possibly the room was one kept as a 'last resort'. It was cold. The decoration was tired, at best, and dirty in places with grey scuff marks on bathroom walls. The bath was grubby looking, with a grey non-slip surface fixed in the bottom. The shower head was encrusted with scale and the shower curtain looked very old and dirty. My wife chose not to use the bathing facilities. The room was provided with a two seat sofa and a swivel office chair, a desk and chest of drawers. There was a built in hanging cupboard (no coat hooks)? The bed..... I am lost for words. I needed to get under the bed to find a power socket for a medical device (which I need at night). The dust and detritus was the worst I have ever seen outside of a very cheap motel. The mattress itself whilst very large was solid. I did think the floor may have been softer. Both my wife and I kept waking because of aching joints on the hard bed, and every movement no matter how slight produced creaks and cracks from the tired old frame.

Nice hotel for a break away

Posted 23-Dec-2014
Pros: Pool, gym, location, garden room outlook. Great breakfast. Nice staff that made us welcome. Re parking
Cons: A little Update of bathroom as there was some scale on bath. Better pillows
Location: Very convenient
Nice staff. Big rooms that I found very quiet. Good pool and gym with clean facilities. As always great hilton breakfast. Would recommend. Only negative was pillows were to firm not the usual hilton standard?

Tired and run down

Posted 19-Dec-2014
Okay for a night but this Hilton it's rather tired. The bath tap leaked (wasting water and noisy) there was tissue over the ceiling sprinkler for some reason. Pillows hard and lots of traffic noise. Needs a refurb in rooms and public areas. Staff were good and helpful.

Perfect hotel for non expensive weekends away.

Posted 08-Dec-2014
We were looking for something quite cheap, clean and within walking distance of the town centre. This hotel provided all of that and a bit more. On the first night we got room service and while the food was hardly 5 stars, it filled a hole. We had a couple of problems - they forgot a lasagna and brought a glass of win rather than a bottle - however, they were sorted quickly and they gave us the lasagna for free. The room was great, even had a sitting area for watching the TV and in general everything was just good.
