The spa area, although had good facilities was very small and not very relaxing . The breakfast had a good variety although the cooked breakfast was the worst I have experienced at a hotel . Inedible. The coffee from the machine was dire and the fruit juices were just concentrated.

Certainly have never had it called inedible. I will look into if anything was different that day. The juices I can guarantee are not from concentrate they are actually cold pressed. Kind Regards

Staff are always so friendly. Especially the hard working bar staff. It was a busy Saturday night with 3 rooms of music. We were very grateful that our room was a good distance from the action and was fortunate to have a very quiet night. Will request the same room in the future.

I thought the staff were very helpful and efficient when checking in.The only thing i could fault was the rooms,they were looking tired and in need of a refurbishment. Other than that, we enjoyed our weekend stay.

The room was comfortably but not special even though described as a premier room. What really let it down for me was the evening meal. I had slow cooked lamb shepherds pie and it was not nice.

We stay here often and it is in a perfect position for us, when visiting family in and around Maidstone. Best of all they are very dog friendly. The property itself is showing its age a bit but not terrible. No AC in rooms, but fans are available from reception.

My first contact with staff was positive. Sadly, my next experience was far from pleasant. I booked a room for my friends under my name. When I brought some laundry up for my friends I was not allowed to take it to them but the staff member I spoke to said she would take it to them. This never happened. When I asked for an explanation I was told to stop being aggressive. Yep you're reading this correctly. Then I was branded a racist. I asked how am I being racist? Never got an answer to that question. A simple, I'm sorry I forgot to take the laundry to them might have been a better approach rather than making excuses.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I have been made aware of this incident and I have investigated this and reviewed on CCTV. Can I first say that we do not prevent guests going to their friends rooms, however, you asked to have the room number of a given individual. We are prohibited by law to disclose information pertaining to what guests are in what room, this is due to data protection. In addition to this it was clear that you did not have the name that matched our records. It is reasonable to expect that if you have friends staying in the hotel you would be able to contact them directly by telephone to ask them personally what room they are in or arrange the delivery of the laundry. I am aware that the staff member in question had informed you that they could hold on to the laundry for your friend to get from reception. They also stated that they would try to contact them or take it to them if they were able, this was not a promise. The guest then came down to collect the laundry and was assisted by our staff.I can see from the CCTV and witnesses that you did in fact approach the desk with a very aggressive body stature and were speaking in a very aggressive tone. When you were asked to not approach in such an aggressive manner it is reported that you responded with comments that would be deemed as threatening. From the evidence available it is clear that the comment of 'racist' was given in response to a comment you made regarding 'All English people..' which you were made aware that this could be seen as racist.In this instance the staff member has tried to continue assisting the guest. It is clear that you have then returned back to the reception in an aggressive manner.We do have zero tolerance policy on aggression towards our staff and any aggressive and threatening is normally asked to leave as per our right to refuse entryI am sorry that you have decided to write such a review after such clearly inappropriate behaviour on your part especially given that you have not been a guest staying at our hotel.I hope that you are able to find a hotel that will suit you and your needs moving forward.Kind Regards

Room was spacious and clean, ruined by noise every few minutes of lift which backed on to room. Sounded like drilling and humming. With the size and amount of rooms, obviously the lift was being used very regularly. Room was lovely and bed very comfortable, with clean bathroom facilities

Thank you for your room. I am sorry that the lift noise disturbed you. We have recently had a decibel check on the rooms adjacent to the lifts and they are well within limits. We understand that this does not negate the fact that this will still disturb some people so we try to restrict lift use between 11pm and 6am. We do hope we can wlcome you back again soon. Dont use the restaurant
Restaurant was very bad service had to wait over an hour for main meal, wasn't very nice chips were hard and burnt. Breakfast was nice apart from the fried eggs that were not cooked properly. Dirty finger marks on most of the brass plates on door, we stay for 2 nights and they were not cleaned at any point in fact didn't see a cleaner at all.

Arrived early and asked if room was ready, receptionist must be clairvoyant as she said no check in is at 3.00 you can wait in the bar, all this without looking at the computer amazing!! Asked for a quiet room and was given the first room in hall way by stairs, every guest came past bidding everyone good night , the walks are paper thin with even plug switch switches being heard at 5.30am - not a good sleep will not stay here again

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you did not have a good sleep. Our receptionists are very good but not clairvoyants, they are just very aware and communicate very effectively with the housekeeping team. The likelihood is that there was a conversation in the morning communications that would have let them know that there would most likely not be rooms ready before 3pm or something to that effect. Hence she was able to answer you without having to look at the screen. The room you were assigned was on the first floor and although it is in the corridor near the entrance to the stairwell, it is normally a very quiet room. I am sorry that you felt the room has very thin walls and it is unusual to hear the hallway or the next door. If this were to happen again, please ask our brilliant reception or night team and they would have happily found a quieter room if that was not to your satisfaction. Alan Partridge (ish). Comfy enough.
£18 for chicken and chips. Asked for a bottle of white wine. Bill was £54. They charged £36 for the wine in a billy basic, Alan Partridge type, hotel. I only ordered the chicken as they had run out of both burger options. I was warned that if I wanted chicken it would take 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, a girl walked over to me and apologised for giving my chicken away to someone else.

Bedrooms really showing age.
The bar area and reception were lovely. The staff super and helpful. The room was really really dated. Limited sockets (no usb points) carpet worn and stained, paint work chipped and furniture dated, bed bases very basic. Clean bedding and good towels and a wonderful supply of hot water for showers. For some reason the radiators were on everywhere so the hotel was stifling.

We have a refurbishment programme underway and we have completed a number of the rooms. We plan to have the remainder complete within the next 18 months or so.
