Pros: Convenient location to town and beach.
Location: Dover castle is great.
Lovely location right on the beachfront. A bit "busy" with business meetings going on.

Close to the White Cliffs for hiking, Dover Castle for sightseeing and not too far from Canterbury for history.

Excellent location for seeing Dover

Posted 16-Jun-2015
Pros: Rooms were basic but very comfortable. Location excellent for daily trips out for walking, ferry and the Dover Castle
Location: Didn't have time to try the shopping centre. White Cliffs, Dover Castle, the Dover Ferry Terminal and the beach were all very convenient.
The hotel's architecture and history is very interesting. Excellent location for the White Cliffs, Dover Castle and the Dover-Calais ferry. Bar food definitely fit the bill after long days of walking. Will stay here again.

Pros: Nothing
We wanted to have a good nights sleep before taking the ferry to Calais and it was completely impossible. The mattress was old and saggy, the room very hot and noisy. At the early time we left there was no coffee or tea available.

Very good hotel in a convenient quiet location

Posted 06-May-2015
Pros: Helpful staff, quiet , good location
Cons: Restaurant staff need to be a bit better organised.
Location: Quiet and picturesque location on the sea front, near the port but you don't really notice it. Lots to do in Dover and the surrounding area.
We stayed in May 2015 for a long weekend, to explore Dover and the surrounding area. There is free parking although this is in a public car park behind the hotel, I couldn't see any security cameras but it looks like a quiet area. The first room we were given had a noisy macerator in the bathroom so we asked for a different room and they happily obliged, apparently only a few of the rooms have a macerator. The room was not huge but big enough, and clean. The bed was very good, firm, comfortable and not lumpy. It was on wheel though and if you sit up in bed and lean back against the wall, the bed rolls forward a few inches! We couldn't get the TV service to work and reported the problem at about 9pm. After an hour it still wasn't working and we went to bed, but it was fixed by the next morning and we got a free bottle of wine by way of apology. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty to choose from. We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was an excellent meal and reasonably priced. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful but seemed a bit disorganised. We were shown to our table by one lady who told us the special was seabass, then when we asked the waiter about the special he said it was salmon. Periodically someone would come out of the kitchen with a couple of plates of food but apparently no idea which table they were for. Overall a fine hotel and we would be happy to return.

Nice hotel on the seafront

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent with good choices. Room and bed were very comfortable. Wifi connection was reasonable but connection was quite weak in our room on the third floor.

Short Stay 3 day holiday

Posted 02-Apr-2015
We used the best western as a base for our 3 day holiday visiting Port Lympne and Dover Castle. Decided to spend a little more to get a superior room with a balcony. The room was so hot we had to sleep with the balcony doors open, the bed was meant to be a king size but was actually 2 twins with a mattress thrown over it meaning there was a massive dip in the middle. The mattress itself was super hard we were actually looking forward to leaving. The room wasn't hoovered during our stay, toiletries weren't refreshed and we were given a random number of clean towels. We had room service for one night only and the salmon salad I ordered was horrendous. First and last time we ate at the hotel. Expected a little more for upgrading to a superior room and was a little disappointed.

Dear Sir / Madam, Thank you very much form your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that you were not entirely satisfied with your stay. I have asked my Maintenance manager to look in to the radiators in the room to ensure that they can be switched off when not needed. I have also asked my Housekeeping manager to look into the cleaning issues and to take necessary steps to improve our service in the future. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize to you for not exceeding your expectations. I hope this won't deter you from staying with us again and hope that I would have the pleasure of welcoming you to the hotel in the near future. Yours sincerely,

Pros: conveniently placed to walk into town, we used it as a base to visit surrounding things of interest
Cons: Room and bed very small, very tight on space in the bedroom and bathroom
Location: Easy access to Dungeness historical site, Romney March and RSPB
Food good, staff friendly, bar not staffed enough gave up on waiting for a drink
