Great hotel close to the motorway and station

Posted 13-Dec-2014
I went there for a weekend while on a course a short drive away. We decided to stay an extra night, seeing as the hotel had a spa, and I'm so glad we did! The rooms are modern, clean, good facilities (those of you with ling hair won't struggle with the hairdryer). The wet spa facilities are great. The swimming pool is big, a wet and dry sauna, and jacuzzi, all very quiet in the evenings. Friday night they turn off all the lights and only candles and the inside swimming pool colour lights are on... truly beautiful and relaxing. it's also a five minute walk to a 24hr sainsburys, if you want to picnic in the room! huge parking lot, so no problems with parking. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel

Handy Ashford hotel close to motorway and town

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Pros: Breakfast excellent. Fresh fruit particularly appreciated. Good range of berries, pineapple, mango etc.
Cons: Check in was very slow with queues
Location: Good location near motorway with restaurants and entertainment at Eureka park and the designer outlet village a few minutes away
The hotel delivered everything I needed. I didn't use the spa or restaurant but these appeared to be first rate.

Basic chain type 1980s hotel

Posted 02-Nov-2014
Pros: Location
Location: Close to M20
The health club is very dated and in need of refurb. I think it is open to non residents. We booked bed and breakfast (latter is basic buffet style) but decided to have dinner in the restaurant. In the end the food was just about ok but the service was so amateur it was quite good fun. We made the booking via reception but the restaurant manager had no reservation. It is massively overpriced and aimed at those that have are staying full/half board. We heard they receive a credit of £26 towards dinner and what do you know the set menu is £26 The so called a la carte and wine is massively overpriced. Chicken and chips £18! We had one starter and main course served together to start with so the main course was returned to the kitchen and came out again 20 mins later when we were ready for it - slightly disguised but dried up. Simple things were beyond them like water and the right bill. In fairness the staff were trying but just hopeless.

A bit of a pamper

Posted 25-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Had a lovely experience staying at the Ashford International with my 8 year old son. Immediately welcoming and comfortable. Smiley on check-in and welcoming and chatty to my boy. He was amazed that there were some people walking around in dressing gowns and even more amazed when we learned there was a spa and pool. The dressing gown was lovely, but would cost you to take away! We stayed in a double room which included a sofa and desk which was ideal to give some extra space is travelling as a family. Modern facilties, good selection of teas and coffees in he room. Absolutely perfect bath and shower. Went to the downstairs cafe for a panini and a drink each and it was reasonable. Again good reception to my son. Used the pool in the morning and enjoyed the jacuzzi. Unfortuantley the sauna was off limits as i didnt want to go in without him but it was all good fun. Will definetely go again.
