“ホテルスタッフ教育がとても良いホテルです”

夕方になるとホテルロビーで若い女の子のコンサートが演じられとても素敵な感じでした。高雄市内の主なところにはほとんど１５０元のタクシー料金で行くことができるロケーションも最高です。 　問題な点はエレベーター内の異臭で乗るたびに「これは何の匂いか」と気になりました。　それと私の部屋の洗面所（トイレと浴室）の床に沢山の蟻が這い回っていて駆除を依頼したのですが毎日のように出現し気持ちの良いものではありませんでした。 　フロントには日本人女性のスタッフがいてその子がいるときは日本語で対応して頂けるのですが、休憩時間とかお休みの時日本語が解るスタッフがいなく困ることがありましたが、彼らも一生懸命に知っている日本語を使って話したり説明したりする姿には好感持てました。チェックアウトの時日本の温泉旅館のように数人のスタッフがタクシーの脇に並んで手を振って見送ってくれました。 　朝食のバイキングも種類が豊富で好きなものを食べることができました。

六合夜市　　大変なにぎわいとお店の人たちの接客態度。べたべたした対応でなく、しつこくもなく無理やり買わせるとか押し付けることはない。 市内のデパート　　週末でもあったせいでしょうか、大変な混雑ぶりで、客層の大半が現地の人と思われますが、購買力など現在の日本人としてとてもうらやましいものを感じました。エスカレーターなど空いているスペースが無いくらいに人が乗り売り場にも多くの客が群がり、昼時は食堂が満杯で相席になることもありました。
Must see
ホテル周辺のスナック　　少し日本語が話せる客がいるとその客中心に私の周りに集まってきて彼を通訳としていろいろなことを質問し、自分の酒を私のグラスに注いでくれ最初の一杯しか注文しなかったほどでした。ただ高雄には日本語ができる人の層が少なく（戦前の日本語教育を受けた年代の人が激減しているためでしょう）、また英語を話せる人もほとんどいなくて、通訳がいないときは筆談が一番でした。漢字の羅列でほぼ目的は達成できたと思います。
Shopping
物価がとても安い。ただ高雄には「紹興酒」「カラスミ」などデパートにも売られていないくらいに台北とは事情が異なります。　菓子店などでは試食が出来、何種類もの味わったことのない菓子類を知ることができました。

“いいホテルです”

確かに建物や部屋に古さは見てとれますが、不潔感などかけらもありません。サービスもよいし、朝食バイキングはもったいないくらいです。駅から歩ける距離ですが、交通はほんの少し不便さを感じますが、ホテルで自転車を貸し出しています。高雄は坂もなく小さな街なので、自転車が便利だと思います。
