“Great location-great restaurant/bar--easy shuttle to airport”

Great location. Near KC Airport so the hotel shuttle can be utilized to get to airport. I met a customer for dinner at the Marriott, in the restaurant/bar area and the dinner was great for hotel food in all honesty. Also the Marriott has a very good Concierge room for Marriott members. I stay here when I fly out of KC airport in morning flights. Very good experience. Jerry

1. Overland Park, KS/ great Marriott Hotel plus near lots of restaurants at night. 2. KC Plaza area of Kansas City/ super restaurants and bars plus nice area.

Dining

Great Steakhouses like Sullivans and others offer a view of KC at night. Another restaurant called the Chop House in the Plaze area is walking distance from other restaurants and bars such as George Bretts restaurant. Another Restaurant that is on top floor of Omni(?) has a revolving restaurant with panoramic view of KC. Lots of choices for great steak places. A longer drive for a great place that is very low key is Jess and Jim's. Very casual.

“Great for late flights”

Close to the airport. Good snacks and wine in the bar. Clean, comfortable and attractive. Plus helpful staff.

“Needs some TLC”

Convenient for airport hotel, attended a reunion so we weren't flying. Follow-though with services was lacking. One night the room was paid via Expedia, one night Marriott online. When reservations were made and at check-in, I was assured that both reservations could be merged. I thought this had occurred until we were locked out of the room and had to have it re-keyed to re-enter. When the room was locked (sometime between 9:00 and 3:00), no housekeeping services were provided. We politely requested the room be cleaned, went to the pool for > 1 hour and returned to find nothing done. I called the front desk and asked to at least have towels. No towels were delivered. My hustand finally helped himself to a housekeeper's cart and to at least get clean towels. We left the room at 6:00 pm and it was cleaned sometime between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

“Good if you don't have to leave the airport area”

Overall it was a good stay. The check in was less than stellar. Was there for business. Meeting area was good, rooms were comforatble, depending on the day, the staff may or may not be in a good mood.

“What I'd hoped for”

Tired from travel, I expected if I booked at a hotel Marriot, I'd do well, and Iwas right. Checked in late on a week-night. Friendly service. Restaurant, Lounge and a stand in the lobby selling wine, beer, sandwitches and sundries were still open till 1AM (!!) Ordered room service at 11:00PM. Food arrived in 15 minutes. Very friendly server. In the morning I discovered, opening my curtains, the hotel is surrounded primarily by lawns, landscaping and a created-lake. Super friendly check out. Nothing could have been better in a hotel that night.

“Very plesant stay. We would certainly go back next time we are in town.”

Very plesant stay. The room was extremely nice! The view was beautiful. We thought that the airport noise might be a problem, but we even commented that we didn't even hear a plane take off or land. The food was good and the service was excellent. I would definately return to this hotel again.

Area recommendations

This is convenient to most of KC. I 435 and Hiway 29 are very convenient and make it easy to get to the racetrack, to Overland Park, and even to Olathe IF you are flying in and out of MCI.
