Roughing It On The River

Posted 30-May-2014 on Hotels.com
From the time of our first arrival to our departure the Staff were absolutely useless. Very few spoke any English and the ones that did spoke little. Drinking started before lunch and bottles of spirits were consumed. Some serious training is required. The rooms are a lot smaller than the quoted 28 square metres - the common area veranda must be included. The shower is over the toilet pedestal. There is no power on the rafts - so no lights or fans. Kero lanterns are used for night time. The price of food and drinks is exorbitant - even for its remote location. Food menu is fixed and limited. Whilst full and half board is offered, there is no alternative. Travellers are suggested to take their own food and drink. There are better places for travellers to go to get the Jungle Raft experience.

Good slow down and country environment

Posted 09-Mar-2014
Pros: laid back
Cons: A big warning about it being cash-only. No charge / credit facilities.
Location: Not much near by - part of the point. The adjacent Mon village does not occupy one for long.
We stayed here for 3 nites - expecting a mixture of rustic/primitive facilities and modern service. It was a bit on the slack side. Meal OK but not great - no real info as to what was coming.
