“September 2011”

Excellent Hotel. Good facilities. Excellent, friendly staff. Excellent security. Can be very noisy if on 'Speke' side of Hotel. Good entertainment, drinks can be expensive.

“Excellent for business travelers in Kampala”

I spent six months working in East Africa and had meetings in Kampala for one week during this time. The service is excellent, the rooms are spotless and laundry is quick and perfectly pressed. When you travel with one pair of pants and one skirt for six months - this becomes important! Peter at the downstairs bar makes a mean whiskey sour and not far from the hotel is a chicken biryani (ask for it without oil) at the Open Door which made me cry with joy. Breakfast at the Sheraton is divine, and even if I stay elsewhere on my next trip I will try to stop in for brunch on a Sunday. Boda boda stop outside of the hotel gate at all times of the day and night, so if traffic gets really ridiculous it's easy to find a way through it.

Nightlife

MATEO's ... that's all I have to say. It's wonderful! Good music, great people, fantastic dancers and it's free.

“I would stay here again.”

The staff at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. The dinner buffet was especially good—a varied selection each night, well prepared, nicely presented, and reasonably priced.

“VIP treatment”

I felt like a VIP during my entire stay, from being met at the airport, to checkout. The concierge was extremely helpful and went above/beyond in arranging a ride to a specific store to purchase an unusual item that I had forgotten to pack, and for the driver to wait for me. The entire staff was courteous. The breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations. I would certainly stay there again!
