Good stopover motel for the night

Posted 13-Mar-2015
Pros: Friendly welcome
For one night this is adequate ,clean and quiet . The room is small and bathroom very small . Access to beach a bonus, and close to local supermarket.

Pros: Proximity to town
Cons: It is what it is.
Location: Kaikoura has lots of interesting choices.
Don't walk on the beach in bare feet-- small stones, very hard on feet !

Ok for a short stay

Posted 26-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
We spent one night here in December. The room was spacious, but somewhat dirty and the door was nearly broken. We were surprised that the lock even held, as it looked as it had seen the better days of its life already. Our unit was next to the railway, which was operational day and night. So it was little shaky so to say. There were only one socket so charging, for example multiple phones, was out of question. Overall the room was good for one night stay, but for longer stays, look elsewhere.

Great beach access but need flyscreens in Summer

Posted 26-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Great access to the beach. The two bedroom unit was spacious and well equipped. Need to invest in flyscreens for the summer. The flies were everywhere and windows need to be open for fresh air. Pebbled beach but with great views back to the mountains. Need more than one night to do the stay any justice.

Warning! Avoid this place!

We stayed there two nights and unfortunately we had prepaid our stay. The room looks more like the interior of a caravan, worn out and old. We've had the smallest double bed since we set boot in NZ. The service is very bad... We had to beg for internet, which comes in the form of vouchers for 200mb. Beds had not been made the next day and when I enquired, the landlord told me they didn't do beds because people leave personal stuff on the beds (!!??!!). That is lousiest excuse I have ever heard. Now in my opinion I can think of two reasons for not making our bed. Laziness or they couldn't stand having two guys sharing the same bed. Worst stay and service in NZ so far.

Great motel. Disappointed that Expedia didn't advise we had two dogs. They were not allowed in motel and this ruined our stay.
