Overall acceptable
Things on the 1st floor is fine, including the lobby and the hot spring. Everything upstairs are not well maintained. The equipment in the rooms are very outdated and the air condition/ventilation is under performed. The breakfast is ok.

Good Stay Close to Outdoor Activities
I stayed in the winter so outdoor hotel facilities were closed. Onsen was open for business. The hotel is dated but clean and in a great location for enjoying the Kirishima area. Room and facilities were clean and staff was excellent. I rate a high 3. I think it would be a solid 4 if price were more reasonable. The location makes the price though.

This hotel is out of the way but has free shuttle service to and from the train station. Very nice large hotel with two towers, so a long walk to its restaurant. Great onsen (Japanese bath).

Nice Hotel
Large rooms, fr Japan, clean and the staff was nice. Indoor and outdoor onsen. That said, if you plan to do some volcano hiking do some more research before you go. The areas were closed off to hikers when I was there. Alternate "Forest Therapy" hikes are available in the area though.

Very relaxing environment around Kirishima area.
We rented a car and the location of the hotel is great, very easy to access different attractions. Both the hot spring and the dinner are great. Room is spacious except the washroom.

Good onsen, nice nature!
We got in late so didn't have the dinner, the area is nice if you like nature, there is a pretty chapel for wedding, good for photos. Hotel is big, onsen was good and relaxing, not crowded. They put rose petals in the outdoor onsen which was very nice and relaxing. Breakfast was ok, needed to pay around GBP12 pp, given the price, wasn't great. We were in a three ppl room, have separate living area, very spacious. Do expect that the hotel and furnitures are old. Overall we liked it.
