“Horrible experience”

It is the first time I have experienced seeing every guest looking sorry for every other guest, knowing that there was nothing to feel good about. No hot water. A lounge with nothing in except a security guard watching a TV the size of a soup plate. A bar with no fridges working or any drinks present. The staff tried to be polite and positive which according to another Australian guest was the only redeeming feature of their stay. When raising my concerns with the manager, I was told that I should look at what other nearby hotels were charging.

“Could have been better”

Certainly not as impressive as it looks on the website. The room was clean but the carpets and furnishings faded and worn. The light fittings in the bathroom ceiling were missing, only one light was working so the light in the bathroom was dull. I had a business suite so expected much more in terms of quality and finishings. The hotel boasts a gym but I was told this was not in operation because of broken equipment. The valuables safe in the room was not working and it took the hotel staff 3 days to fix this - they eventually installed a new safe. The sun loungers by the pool were broken. On a positive note, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, but the service was slow.

Sandton City has a massive selection of shops and featuring many overseas brands and products, but even local brands and products were very expensive even with the favourable currency exchange rate and often it would be cheaper to buy these items at home in London!

“keine 3 Sterne”

Das gesamte Hotel bedürfte doch einer kpl. Renovierung. Der Service der Hotelangestellten ist vorhanden, aber Sie bedienen sich auch gerne selbst. Gerade beim Frühstück erscheinen bis hin zum "Hausmeister" nach und nach alle im Frühstücksraum...unglaublich! Den abgebildeten 2. Pool gibt es in der Hotelanlage definitiv nicht!! Auf meine Emailanfrage an die Hausdame warte ich noch Heute auf Antwort...ohne Worte!

Wenn man keinerlei Ansprüche hat und sich mit tatsächlichen 1-2 Sternen zurecht findet, tagsüber nur unterwegs ist und Abends nur noch müde ins Bett sinkt, dann mag das Westford genügen. Aber selbst denn ist der Preis doch recht haarig, sorry
