“Good hotel but not the best for tourists”

The hotel itself is a bit dated, but still comfortable. They operate a shuttle from/to the airport, and anywhere else in Jo'burg by arrangement - it gets charged to your room. Braamfontein is a pretty safe neighborhood M-F 9-5 when everyone is about working. The hotel restaurant has a buffet and a menu for dinner, the charges for the buffet are steep, but the menu is reasonable. The neighborhood has other places to eat. The housekeeping staff are really keen and often knocked on my door between 8&9am - too early for me. Hotel has a nice 24th floor with fitness room, pool and lounge chairs - nice place to sit in the sun. Not a great hotel for winter as rooms have no heat. Hotel staff friendly and accommodating. They know very little about options for tourists, however, and don't really give directions or suggestions; it's very much a business hotel.

Police stopped our car and blackmailed me for a bribe because I had with me only copy of my passport instead of passport.

“Unbeatable Quality for the Price”

I traveled with friends and we all were extremly satisfied with the attention, cleanliness and professionalism of the whole staff.

When to go

August travel was so beautiful, bright sunshine upper 70s; cool evening with hardly any mosquitoes.

The Zoo was very nice

Nightlife

It was recommended that we dont travel at night on foot.

“Unfortunate location”

Neighborhood is not safe. Hotel is nice, but has little facilities. Mini gym. Bar is kind of basic. Just one restaurant. Nice rooftop pool for the summer...

“hotel au coeur du quartier CBD, très confortable, en plein centre de Jobourg”

Personnel accueillant et disponible, bon restaurant, chambre/appartement très spacieuse, rapport qualité/prix imbattable. Dommage que la cuisine soit réduite à sa simple expression d'un frigo et d'une bouilloire.... mais le personnel nous a fournis le nécessaire en vaisselle

pleins de choses: -Gold Reef City, à 15min de l'hotel -Lion Park, au nord de la ville (environ 1h de l'hotel) -Prétoria en octobre pour ses milliers de Jacarandas en fleurs, à 1 heure de Jobourg -Centre commercial de Sandton City et Rosebank, -la région du Mégalieberg au Nord avec visite de BushBabies (les singes) et Elephant Sanctuary (1h30 à 2h de l'hotel)

Family-friendly activities

Lion Park: pour caresser les bébés lions, Gold Reef City pour les manèges à tous les âges... mais il faut que l'enfant ai 6ans pour descendre dans l'ancienne mine d'or.
