Friendly staff. Mid-tier hotel. Good breakfast and facilities. Good open areas and outside areas (no smell). Near a large shopping centre (within safe walking distance). Join hotel rewards for the best rate.

Anew needs to renew!!
There is a horrible stench in the reception area and itgets worse as you walk to the restaurant, The phone in my room did not work. The bathroom handle broke off causing my wife to be locked in the bathroom for a few minutes. The plug points at the desk were faulty and made charging devices difficult. I am very disappointed and cancelled the 2nd night's stay.

A nightmare
Worst experience in a 6 week trip around south africa! I requested a room away from the elevators when I booked but then they put me in a room beside the elevators overlooking the noisy highway below with poor insulation. I went back down to reception to ask for a room facing the quiet courtyard, which they told me they were sold out of. Then at 2am I woke up sweating to a broken air conditioner and a rapidly heating room. Then reception moved me to 4 other rooms in the middle of the night because each one also had broken air conditioners. By the way, 3 of those rooms were facing the quiet courtyard so they had lied previously about them being sold out. Then I was woken up early by housekeeping yelling and constantly slamming doors. I checked out and booked another hotel!

Low Quality Standards
The bathroom door did not close/open with the ease the it should. The shower head in the bathroom was so loose I had to hold it with one hand and shower with the other. The room was generally musty & dusty. The issues are just unacceptable.

For the price and reputation of Protea Hotels it was disappointing. I wouldn’t search out a Protea Hotel again for the money paid. Restaurant was particularly poor accept “agreement” she was very good.

Still the best location and value in Centurion
I really like the convenience and location of the hotel and i stay there very often. The biggest issue i have is with the amount of noise i experience at night. For example, all the cupboard doors and regular doors dont have padding or soft close mechanisms and make a loud bang when closed, i wish they would fix this.

The hotel is well located, the staff very friendly, and clean, however there were issues. 1) We got in late in the afternoon 15h00 but could not check-in and sat around for an hour until our rooms were ready. In the early hours of the next morning there was a lot of loud talking, I figured that it maybe came from the room next door, and put a pillow over my head to drown it out, but at 06h00 I opened my door only to find the noise was from people sleeping in sleeping bags in the corridor in front of my room, they were busy packing up, and left all their litter in the corridor. That afternoon I got back to the hotel at 16h00 only to find my room stripped of all bedding - why? The housekeeping staff only rectified this at 17h00. Something else I had an issue with was they offer breakfast at R210 per day which would be R420 for my two day stay for breakfast, needless to say I gave that a miss and ate at the wimpy for R60. Its issues like this that destroy a hotels reputation, they really need to address their housekeeping and try and get control of the hotel back, you cant have people squatting in the corridors.

Took 3 hours to check in to right room i had requested. A suite with twin beds. The TV reception is poor for a hotel of the status. The supersport channels are there but can hardly view some of the channels. Some stuff were absolutely pleasant but a few not so much.

Hotel central and well located. Safety good also for your car with 24 hr guards. Unfortunately the oncelovely lake is now no more and overgrown dump. However a good overnight venue with good service

First I was given a room on ground floor which was outdated with old furniture and decor. I originally requested 2 single beds but was given 1 queen/king. I was pleasantly surprised when moved to the 5th where the latest furniture and fittings/decor was suddenly available

I Arrived at midnight , reception man insisted my booking is not paid & charged me again. At checkout in the morning , a nice lady assisted me and sorted out the duplicate payment for refund. Rooms are nice , but bathrooms need some TLC. Did not use any other facilities.

It was good and the service was great -- lovely staff! But room gave me severe allergies (usually caused by old dusty carpets adn curtains) and the aircon did not work at all on the second night. I was too tired to report it.
