“Outlook Lodge was very comfortable. It is a small with a very inviting atmosphere.”
My stay there was restful and quiet. I did not go out of the gate except when my friends came to take me out to dinner, so I don't know about the surrounding area. The pick-up and delivery to and from the airport was timely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my time out by the pool. Breakfast was very good and more than adequate. I dealt with Francois mainly; he was knowledgeable about his position as were the others on the staff.
“Explorers Wanted”
A great base for exploring the Johannesburg region, located in a pleasant suburb close to OR Tambo Airport. Had some difficulty getting through by telephone, so I took a cab instead of using the pickup service. Francois was very accommodating, providing a sandwich and a beer when I arrived and arranging for a guided tour of Soweto the following day on very short notice. He also dropped me off for dinner at a local restaurant, and came to get me later. Outlook Lodge specializes in photo safaris, which look good, but I was bound on an adventure of my own. My room was extremely comfortable, with two sleeping areas and a private bath across the hall. Public areas are nicely decorated, and the grounds are quite attractive. All in all, a very good choice for a single, a couple, or a family.
“WOW”
We stayed at the Outlook Lodge and went on Safari with Outlook to Kruger and Sabi Sands. From the moment they picked us up at the airport to dropping us off a week later, the entire staff catered to our every wish. As an example, the evening we were leaving our son asked for a Fanta but they were out. They phoned an employee who picked one up while coming into work. That is service. In all my travel I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff was so helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious, and clean. Staying the night or a week, Outlook is a very reasonable priced lodge, in a quite neighborhood, where the staff is friendly and makes you feel like part of the family.
“Close to airport”
We were looking for accommodation close to the airport and Outlook lodge fitted our needs. It’s a good house, the room was clean and really big and designed in two levels with a living room totally separated. Some repairs are needed to earn back the 4 stars that is being rated. Somewhat overpriced, probably influenced by the World Cup.

I loved this hotel. Great location. Amazing service. Beautiful room. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay in a big city, this is the one. Would return again.
“QUIET AND COMFORTABLE”
THE LODGE IS MORE LIKE A BED AND BREAKFAST, WITH ONLY 5 ROOMS. WE ONLY HAD 2 NIGHTS BEFORE GOING ON SAFARI AND IT IS CONVENIENT TO THE AIRPORT. THEY HAVE A SHUTTLE, BUT WE HAD TO CALL TO HAVE IT PICK US UP. NOT EASY TO WALK TO A RESTAURANT AT NIGHT, SO WE HAD THEIR DRIVER TAKE US BOTH TIMES. BOTH WERE GOOD--MOZAMBIQUE AND DAB. THE MANAGER DOES A GREAT JOB-ALMOST EVERYTHING. THE INCLUDED BREAKFAST WAS GREAT.
“Extremely Friendly Staff”
The hotel lobby and rooms were clean and comfortable, the shuttle was prompt, and the breakfast was ample and delicious. However, the most notable feature was the exceptionally accommodating and friendly staff, and I felt truly valued as a guest.
“Charming local hotel”
If you are looking for a nice, resonably priced place close to the JNB airport this is it. Very clean and charming with a large bathroom. Beautiful grounds, great breakfast. Small and intimate bed and breafast type hotel. We stayed here after arriving in JNB too late to get a connecting flight to Zambia. They arranged transportation to and from the airport for us.

Relatively close to Tambo International Airport (~20 minutre ride). Stayed overnight in between flights. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Make sure to arrange transportation from airport in advance
