“Great hotel in a great location”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Don Rosebank 1. The room was self contained and clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful in planning activities and deciding what to do and the location of the hotel was also great; a safe area of wider Johannesburg with plenty of things to do and see nearby. Would highly recommend.

“Cold and shabby hotel. Could not wait to leave.”

I was there in winter and it was freezing cold. Only heating was a basic plug in heater which took two days of continual use to warm up my room. Common areas were always full of strong cooking odors. Televisions sets old and quite primitive. Paint on walls stained and peeling. Hotel very shabby. No food available apart from breakfast.

“Spacious suite, great location”

We've stayed at the Don Rosebank twice, and will always stay there when in Johannesburg. The room is huge, the kitchen has everything you need, the bath is spacious, and you're within walking distance of the Rosebank mall, with all the restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. There are some nice touches too, like the pullout clothes drying rack above the bathtub.

Area recommendations
I recommend the Rosebank area, because of the pleasant neighborhood, the good mall, the Sunday flea market, and the proximity to Sandton.
