“Prabably just as good as when it was the Windmill; last there 12 years ago!”
Couldn't really find much fault other than the fact they charge quite a lot for internet access. We didn't use it as all the cafes and restaurants have it for free. Compared with our small boutique hotel in Tel Aviv (where internet was free by the way) , the reception staff were not as knowledgeable about bus routes etc, nor quite as helpful as we'd have liked. But not enough to make a complaint about it...so overall, pretty good. Location is excellent too and the area is very nice.
“Great deal for Jerusalem”
Hotels in Jerusalem are not cheap and I booked the Prima Royale because of the price offered on Expedia. It's tucked away on a side street, but among the major hotels- The King David, Inbal, etc. It's a doable walk to the Old City and to the commercial areas like Ben Yehuda St. The included breakfast was nice enough and the room was clean and roomy. Two complaints- The room was hot and stuffy even though the weather was cool- but we found this to be true throughout the city. Our window was wide open most of the time. The internet was slow and inconstant, a common problem these days in hotels in this range. My Boingo account was supposed to work, but I could log on successfully. Overall, if you're looking for a nice hotel, it was worth the price we got online.
“REALLY BAD”
SEEING WHAT OTHERS WROTE PREVIOUSLY MAKES ME FEEL IT WAS WRITTEN BY HOTEL STAFF. FIRST OFF NO NEED FOR WAKE UP CALLS, YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING FROM ANY ROOM ON YOUR FLOOR AND ABOVE AND BELOW. NO CLOCK IN THE ROOM. SHEETS HAD STAINS. SHOWER HEAD DID NOT STAY UP HIGH AND WHEN WE ASKED TO FIX IT THEY CAME UP LOOKED AT IT SAID WE NEED A NEW ONE AND NEVER CAME BACK. HEATING DID NOT WORK. I WONT EVEN START ON THE BUFFETS. I ORDERED ROOM SERVICE GOT THE PITA WITH HUMUS AND ISRAELI SALAD. NO PITA. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT WHY THEIRS NO PITA THEY SAID IF YOU DON'T LIKE WE WILL TAKE IT BACK. I SAID ITS NOT THAT I DON'T LIKE ITS THAT IT WAS STATED ON THE MENU I GET PITA...WHERE IN ISRAEL DO YOU GO AND GET A HUMUS/PITA PLATE THAT DOES NOT COME WITH PITA? THE WAITER WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK AT THE DOOR. AS OF 7 AM YOU HEAR EVERYTHING AROUND YOU. I LEFT A DO NOT DISTURB TAG ON MY DOOR AND SURE ENOUGH BY 10 AM I HAD HOUSE KEEPING WALK INTO MY ROOM. I CHECKED AND SAW THE TAG WAS STILL ON THE DOOR. TOOK ABOUT 10 MIN TO GET SERVICE TO GET A DRINK EACH TIME I WENT. NO ONE MANS THIS STATION. THE KETTLE GIVEN IN THE ROOMS STILL HAD OLD BROWN WATER IN IT. I HAD POOR SERVICE BUT THE HOTEL ITSELF WAS NICE ITS TOO BAD EVERYTHING WAS AWFUL IN THE END. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A NICE EXPERIENCE. ON MY LAST NIGHT I COULD NOT WAIT TO GET OUT OF THEIR. ESPECIALLY WHEN I WAS WOKEN UP AGAIN AT 7 AM, U REALLY DO HEAR IT ALL. PAY THE EXTRA FEW BUCKS AND DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
“The service was excellent. Desk personal was very helpful every day. I was very impressed.”
It was a blessing to stay at your hotel . Everyone was so nice and helpful. One of the men helped more than any other at the front desk. I can't remember his name but it started with a M. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Breakfast was great. Location was within walking distance of the Jaffa Gate.
“Very satisfied”
Very comfortable room. Quiet and upmarket neighbourhood. Many choices of things for breakfast, but not to everyone's taste. Walking distance to Mamila Shopping Mall and the Jaffa Gate. A taxi from Mamila Mall back to the hotel cost 18 shekels. A bottle of water ( 1 litre) at the hotel cost 12 shekels. It is also possible to walk to Mahane Yehuda market and to Ben Yehuda Street from the hotel (around 30 minutes).
“Good hotel for it's price and location”
Very nice hotel, considering vicinity to the Old City and the price they charge. Very-very good breakfast! Generally nice and friendly staff, although the reception is quite 'uneven' - one receptionist helped immensely, made very good recommendations and tried to make it a comfortable stay; the other was slow. unfriendly and sometimes too busy to attend waiting clients. Rooms could be larger, but still it's a good size for the price. Can definitely recommend it for touristic trip.
“Good staff but not so good rooms”
Location was good, staff was helpful, specially General Manager went out of her way to help us with travel arrangements. Rooms are small and air conditioning not turned on until may. when windows are left open street sound is annoying
“Will definitely do ti again”
Nice hotel. It's located in a great spot. The breakfast is excellent and a great way to start the day.
“Reasonable Jerusalem hotel, off the main drag”
This is a fine hotel with reasonable room rates. The staff is very helpful. The bar and entry level waiting area are very sociable spaces. Because it is not on a main street, it appears to be quieter than larger hotels, but it is very close to the 'Windmill' Park and the Old City. My only gripe is the use of orange and lemon drink mixes for breakfast in place of orange and grapefruit juice of which there is tons in Israel.
“Decent Location”
I stayed at this hotel with a group and then stayed over on my own. This is a pleasant hotel about a 15 minute walk from the Jaffa Gate to the old city. A walk I made several times. It is also a short walk to King David and King George streets. There was a coin Internet Computer in the business area for those without their own computer.
