“Good location but mediocre”
Good location but mediocre breakfast, towels, service etc.
“Not good at all”
The best features of this hostel are: (1) 20-minute walk to the Old City, and (2) free wireless. The staff are not friendly at all; sometimes they act rude as if you bothered them when you ask questions. My room was never cleaned. Only the trash was picked up daily. The floors were not dusted or mopped; not even the bathroom floors. One can see dust on the floor along the wall that was there every day. They never changed the sheets (I was there for 5 nights). The trash truck noise and people talking and yellying are heard every night even at 3 or 4 in the morning (forget about a good sleep!). The breakfast is almost OK. The bell one must ring to come in does not work, so one might be 10 minutes ringing the bell that they cannot hear upstairs to let you in.
“Good location”
Good location - good accommodation - below average breakfast!
“No hesitation in booking this hotel again”
Great hotel, great location (10 minutes walk to the old city, 5 minutes from the local market). Nice balconies to sit on and relax in the evenings. Staff friendly and helpful. Only 2 very minor complaints - a kebab shop near the hotel open until the early hours - loads of noisy teenagers (same all over the world!) and a shower head that insisted on sliding down its rail and hitting you on the head while you were trying to wash. Would recommend this hotel to anyone - really enjoyed our stay.
“New York City Couple”
We absolutely loved this hotel, but have to say that the highlight of our stay was the lady who runs the show, a wonderful lady by the name of Rosa. Rosa not only was incredibly hospitable, but also proactive without being pushy about the tourist attractions and practical tips that one as a tourist always appreciates. As a polyglot she was extremelly informative in her many languages and we spent a good time of our in between walking resting moments chatting with her about the culture of the city that the tourist guides fail to illustrate. By the end of our stay we insisted she writes a book about her experiences. The hotel is very charming, nothing beats the breakfast on the beautiful balconies adorned with fresh flowers overlooking the middle of the city center, and the cleanliness and comfort in small rooms are invaluable. Location is perfect as well, very close to the greatest market ever, to the new tram, to new Jerusalem, and a perfect short walk away from the marvels of the old city. We loved it. Thank you, Rosa.
“WORST motel EVER”
Upon arriving, I was amazed that this motel calls itself a hotel. There is no elevator, the lobby is located on the second floor and you have to wait for someone to open the door for you in order to get in. The room keys have a huge key ring which forces you to leave the key at the 'reception' and reclaim it everytime you want to go in your room. The room was stinky and filthy. The bed was a single bed but it felt even smaller. The bathroom was beyond small and the walls were covered with mold. I had to buy a bottle of hand soap, because the soap bars were disgusting!!! I wouldn't recommend this motel not even to my enemies. The owner of the motel need to close it for renovation ASAP, and bring it from the early 19th to the 21st century!
“From Miami To Jerusalem”
Hotel is just as decribe. An excellent no frills hotel in an excellent location. Corner of Jaffa and King George around the corner from all buses and taxis. Fifteen minute walk to Jaffa Gate. Nearby to all shopping and restaurants. The hotel has no elevator which was disclosed ahead of arrival. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a traditional Israeli breakfast with plenty of options. The room was clean comfortable and most of all safe. The street nose is obvious due to the close proximity to all the attractions. The market place is another 10 minute walk in the opposite directions. I would certainly stay in this hotel again. Address is difficult to drive up because it is in a plaza. You can easily walk the last block.
“Not impressed”
Service is ok
“A good choice.”
The good points, it is a bed and breakfast and the breakfast was decent, they had several spreads, like tuna salad, egg salad, a couple of different cream cheeses, jam, hard boiled eggs, Israeli salad (chopped cucumber & tomatoes), herring, yogurt, cold cereal and bread. A toaster and drinks included 2 or 3 choices of juice, water, milk, coffee and tea. The coffee and tea are available 24 hours/day. The guy at the front desk was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Giving us directions and such as we asked. The guy that was there the 3rd day a bit less friendly but still answered questions. The rooms were small but we basically were there to sleep and shower. The bathroom had showers only no tubs, but that was fine with me. The room was clean the heater worked and the windows open. There is TV and they supply you with wi-fi access if you have your own computer, but there were several internet cafe near by (didn't use). Also, no elevator just stairs, we were on the 2nd floor and didn't have a problem with that, I just didn't know till I got there. The location was great, (though we got lost getting there, called the hotel and he gave us step by step directions). It was in walking distance of shops and restaurants. We took a taxi to "the wall" as I thought it too far for me to walk and then walk around there and back.
“Decent two star hotel”
A decent two star hotel in a central (but quite noisy) location in West Jerusalem. The staff spoke good English, were helpful and were happy to book tours and airport transfers. The room was basic but had all you'd expect from a 2 star hotel. Unlike many hotels the free wireless internet worked well on the upper floors. The breakfast was OK but nothing special. I'd stay there again.
