“Kosher Hotel”
Generally a good hotel. Clean and comfortable. The dining room staff are helpful and friendly. The reception women a little aggressive and rude. The lifts go Kosher on the sabath as it is a Jewish religious hotel. That means 3 out of the 5 lifts can't be used by gentiles, so I was told by a Jewish guest?? I wouldn't advise you read the tourist guide that comes with the rooms, seems to be politically biased with axe to grind. Armed guard on the door, but not very proactive. Good location for exploring Jerusalem old city. Can take a short cut through the Muslim quarter and Nablus Rd to get to all the main sites. Do not listen to scare mongers, it looks rough as there is no investment into infrastructure by the Israelis but is perfectly safe (compare this to the Jewish quarter which is imaculate, well lit and very clean). Also very safe to use the Arab bus station close to the hotel in Arab East Jerusalem, down the road from Damascus Gate with buses for Bethlehem, qand many other destinations including Mt Olives instead of trecking across town to the Israeli Bus Station on Jaffa Rd. Keep your passports with you, the IDF may hassle you if you dont fit their norms. Overall despite these inconveniences, fascinating place to visit!
“Never ever again”
Just horrible service. Very poor choice of food and drinks in restaurant and bar. Our room was dirty. Nobody did vacuuming or dusting during 9 days of our staying there. Hotel staff looks like frozen...
“Clean, Comfortable & Convenient Hotel”
We were very happy to stay at this hotel again. Although a little pricy for us, the benefits were worth it. We found the rooms to be clean, the bed comfortable, the staff friendly, helpful and most spoke English. Internet is expensive. The buffet breakfast provided lots of options suiting a variety of tastes. The pool was not usable at this time of year (March). The Old City (Damascus Gate) was 7 minutes walk away. We would happily stay there again.
“Grand Court Jerusalem”
New, comfortable hotel; suited for large tourist’s groups passing through
“Andy from Philly”
Nice Hotel but not a 4 star xperience. The food was average and the prcies were high ($30 for breakfast). The service was ok but appeared to be understaffed. The room was plain and had not coffee, bath items like soap or conditioner. Only had the dispensers on the wall. Overall it was a pleasant experience but would call it a 3 star not 4 star.
“For the price it was clean and did the trick for a quick stay.”
The hotel was nice and the price was right. The staff was helpful but did not go out of there way to help you. They where doing some painting in the halls so it smelled of paint. Good thing I was only staying 2 nights or that could have been an issue.
“Staying in Jerusalem”
My husband and I visited Jerusalem when I was five months pregnant on our own (no tour guide at the ready) which made for an interesting experience especially as we are not Arab or Jewish. We thought we'd save money by staying at the Grand Court but its location actually meant the opposite. Whilst it has the most amazing breakfast and dinner buffet you've ever seen its the only food in the vacinity. If you are going to Jerusalem look for hotels 'near to Damascus gate' - they may be a little more pricey but at least you will be in easy walking distance to restuarants and shops. The Grand Court is an easy 10 min walk to the Old City but its not something you want to do at night. Jerusalem is a place you can do on your own with a good guide book and you will see 'true' sights this way - the only advantage of a guide is langauge - this is the hardest thing about Jerusalem (and having to tell the taxi drivers that yes you only want to get back to your hotel not go to Bethlehem!)
“A comfortable and relaxing experience. Certainly good value for money.”
The Grand Court Hotel is an impressive complex and a spacious hotel. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Feeding was buffet style with more than enough variety to whet the appetite. It's a tourist hotel and caters for both small and large groups but still yet is fine for the single traveller or couple. The swimming pool is hardly used probably as most tourists are out asnd about asll day. In summay the Grand Court Jerusalem is a good hotel by any standards and one I would recommend for easy access and comfortable stay in Jerusalem.
“Good value for the money”
Walking distance to Damasscus gate Other than hotels no restaurants within easy walk other than about 3/4 miles to Jaffa Street Large tour groups make breakfast a BIG affair but daytime hotel seems empty! Standard adequate rooms with comfortable beds could use a bit closer vacuuming of carpet edges and cleaning of light switches. Front desk staff helpful and pleasant
“Good Location”
Good location. Great parking. Breakfast was enjoyable. Rooms and hallway floors needed attention and cleaning. Overall a good stay.
