We visited The Samares 4 years ago and really enjoyed it, so we decided to return for a 3 night break. We arrived early, the room wasn't ready which we expected, so we left our baggage and went off to explore St. Helier. When we returned, we found that we had been upgraded to a suite. The 2nd surprise was a bottle of wine in the room with a note welcoming us back. The suite was clean and well appointed. It was on the ground floor with a small patio overlooking the garden and outside pool. We did find that the sound proofing was poor and we could hear the occupants of the suite above us when they walked about. We were booked in on a Bed & Breakfast basis and did eat in most nights. The food was good but the menu was a little repetitive.
No complaints whatsoever.
The Hotel has a bus stop right outside of the door with a bus every 15 minutes. Bus route 1. The cost to St Helier was £1.50. At the bus station there are frequent buses to all parts of the Island, with the fares being £1.50 or £2.00 ( depending on the route). Bus route 15 will take you from the bus terminal to the airport every 15 minutes. Journey time 35 minutes. We bought a 3 day bus pass. The bus pass allows unlimited travel. We thought that it was well worth it.
Both the Samares and Jersey are well worth a visit. The people must be the friendliest and most helpful in GB!!.
Good location about 15 minute walk from centre the reception staff friendly and helpful, the room looked like it had been refurbished recently and was spotless and kept that way through out my stay also very quiet but I was at back of building in the front is a very busy road so I guess more noise with window open. The breakfast was between 8 to 10am and was busy early so I got there at 945 but it felt like that was too late and they were winding down so rushed a bit.
