“ideal stay for short break”
friendly, helpful staff; comfortable and stylish accommodation; good food. set back from the road but traffic noise could be intrusive for some, but was no problem for us - ask for a room overlooking the pool to be away from the traffic.
“Staff really know how to provide service”
Best hotel I have been to. Amenities great. Staff without exception provided prompt service with a smile. Food in the restaurant was excellent.
“Good Savoy”
The hotel is in a great location only 5min walk from shops and 5min from Beach road. My only 2 issues was that the gym was out of use - my friend and I specifically booked here for the gym and location and value for money. I guess they couldn't avoid it as it didn't pass their fire inspection and so was rendered unsafe for guests. Second issue was that satellite tv was unavailable and we only had BBC 1-4 which wasn't great for us as the weather wasn't great and the little time we spent in the room was spent mostly watching news. Other than that the staff were great, the restaurant and jazz bar was very cool too. Definitely good value for money
“on list to use again”
Hotel was very clean- food [breakfasts only] was excellant-staff pleasant and helpful, we stayed in Jan with some refurbisment work in progress but it proved no problem at all. Staff provided extra heating to compensate for cold weather. Overall experience superb.
“The Savoy Tragedy”
Tragic from the start. Arrived at 11am ....told that they could not find my reservation. Told to wait in the Bar, tried to order a beer..."Sorry sir we are out of beer" Back to reception sorry sir room not ready come back at 1pm. Returned at 1pm sorry sir come back at 2pm. Arrived back at 2 NO ONE around..staff all sitting in the Bar having a meeting for about 1 hour. Came back at 3:30pm they found my reservation and decided to check me in. Not so fast...they couldn't find my bags...after 15 mins of panic they found them. I arrived at my room. Mini Bar Empty ...yes ZERO contents. Just a cold empty fridge. Then I noticed by the Sirens I was across from a Police and Ambulance station. Room was okay at best...paper thin walls, Made staff ignore DND signs on doors no privacy. On my early morning checkout I went down..NO ONE, then some man came out of the bar who looked like he was sleeping and fixed his hair. Called me a Taxi and a guest ran down the stairs saying " Are you the person staying in room ** I said yes, well you closed the door loud....Very unpleasant guest to be yelling this at me at 5:45am. I was speechless. I stay in Jersey 70 business nights a year, If the Savoy don't want my business I will stay elsewhere. They check me in late, bad service, no mini bar, no staff around, 4 Stars ...this should be under review. What a tragedy to have such bad service....Listen to a paying client Savoy
“Return to Jersey after 40 years.”
In 1955 we spent our honeymoon on this beautiful little island (at the Merton hotel) and then when our family was old enough to share our enjoyment, we returned in 1972. On this most recent occasion, traveling from Canada to join a ship for a 14 day cruise to the Med, we thought that it would be a nice way to end our vacation by once again going back to have a look at the island and remembering days gone by. Using Expedia UK was a good choice for the 4 night vacation extension. The arrangements and price were very much in line with our wallet. The short flight from and back to London was just right. Our selection of the 4* Savoy hotel turned out to be perfect and what put the icing on the cake was the fact that the weather was absolutely beautiful allowing us to walk miles and retrace our steps from a long time back. Ate lot's of fish 'n chips and drank some of the local beer. Don't know if we will or can return to Jersey but the multitude of pictures that we took will be looked at many times in the future,
“Would use again.”
Hotel, friendly, food excellent, staff helpful, in all very nice. In my opinion the one area that could be improved were the curtains the main areas and bedrooms were fine be badly dressed the landings were poor and B&B.
“Sleepy Jersey”
I Visited Jersey on business and stayed overnight, the town is pretty, the harbour is lovely and getting around on foot or by taxi is very easy and fairly cheap. You can expect to pay around £13.00 for a taxi from the airport. Nightlife is non existent, however it was a Tuesday night that I visited and maybe weekends are busier. Some nice restaurants and bars, would recommend sitting out in front of the Royal Yacht Hotel and watch the world go by.
“Nice entrance, shame about the room”
Located 15min walk (uphill) from town. Entrance and lower floor refubished and well maintained. breakfast excellent and staff helpfull. Bedroom clean but 1950 decore, wardrobe from second hand shop uneven floor and ceiling full of cracks. Brochure says completely refurbished, definitely not true for the top floor!
“Satisfied traveller”
Hotel convenient for sea front and town. Well decorated. Cooked buffet breakfast range and quality good except so few guests that some cooked food dried out from standing. Staff happy to cook fresh when pointed out and also volunteered without prompting. Evening coffee in bar was dreadful. Advised reception but nothing done about it. This was an exception as everything very good. Possibly coldest days of the year and exceptional for Jersey. Bedroom could have been warmer even with radiator on still felt ccold at night..
