“Clean, comfortable, but not central”

A very pleasant place to stay in St Hellier. Helpful staff, good restaurants and food. Comfortable clean room. Unfortunately not on a bus route and the 10-15 minute walk to/from town centre not so good in rain or at night. Excellent sport facility for families across the road.

“Very Impressed”

Stayed at this Hotel 10 years ago, when we got married in Jersey, and was as great as we remembered it. Lovely clean rooms, fantastic communal areas. Loads to do. Would definately reccomend. Great for Kids too!!

“A good all round hotel!”

A good all round hotel suitable for every traveller whatever age. Facilities, staff, food and accommodation were of a very good standard. Hope to return soon.

“Good choice”

We booked the Merton for a mini-moon in Jersey. The staff were polite, the service was very good as were the facilities. The hotel also gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate our marriage. We would certainly consider going back again but with our little girl so she could enjoy the leisure facilities and the flowrider.

Area recommendations
Visit the indoor markets, travel by train to St Aubin Bay, eat in the many fantastic restaurants in St Helier and St Aubin and soak in the fantastic sea air. Jersey is a foodie's delight so make the most of it. Last but not least, it's close to home, has better weather than the UK and you don't need to speak another language. Perfect!
Getting around
Getting about is really easy. We walked from the hotel to everywhere we wanted to get to in St Helier. We made use of the train and the buses for trips to St Aubin and Gorey. Getting to and from the airport to the Merton was so easy by bus and then a short walk (using the GPS on my mobile phone). We had considered hiring a car when making the booking but now I realise it would have been unnecessary and unethical.

“met all expectations”

We were recommended to the Merton hotel and have now visited on 3 occasions.Everyone we spoke to had nothing but praise for the hotel especially the facilities and the food option. Our only comment that may be on the negative side is the cost of the drinks.

use the excellent bus service from the bus station and if you do more than 4 journeys get the day pass, forget hire cars as you need prepaid parking

“Ideal for families”

The Merton is a great family hotel and I wish I had discovered it years ago when I went with my kids.. however this time I went with friends and found it to be a little too family orientated. The worst aspect of the hotel is the entertainment area Star Bar.. the kids took over the dance floor and stayed there until closing, which put me of having a dance.. it seemed more like a kids club. Which is Ideal if you are taking kids.. The restaurant is self service and eat as much as you like, which can lead to over indulgence however the staff were very helpful to the point of printing out our return boarding passes.. the carpark is huge, which is a failing with many hotels in Jersey.. would I go back? Yes if I were taking my kids, however if it was just adult time then probably not.. but thats because my adult time is precious to me..

Jersey is my favourite place in the world.. there is so much to do.. have a meal at the royal yacht.. its not as expensive as you would think..

“Very good fpr families”

Nice hotel for families. A bit of a walk to restaurants so we ate at the hotel restaurant called Bonetti's. The last night we ate at their other restaurant which is a carvery. The food was very good, but quite expensive for a carvery. Bonettis was very reasonable. Hotel staff were nice, but front desk staff not as friendly as waiting staff/maid service staff. Don't expect e-mailed requests to be read! The pool was a huge hit with the kids. And free for guests. It was the best bit.

“Great hotel for everyone”

Very pleased with this hotel as a visiting couple. The Merton seems to have struck a great balance between serving the needs of a families with kids and not forgetting the needs of other guests. Food was excellent both for breakfast and dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy walk into town centre for shopping and hotel adjacent to a lovely park. Would recommend this hotel to others.

“Great Hotel - Can't wait to go back”

Great Hotel, staff all very polite and helpful, the outside space and gardens were lovely, we enjoyed the swimming complex and grounds opposite the Hotel that we were able to use, especially with the beautiful weather we had during our stay.
