Dining
When it comes to dining, the Hotel de France inspires all tastes. From a four course gourmet meal prepared by international chefs to canapés and cocktails, our range of in-house dining facilities offer you pure pleasure.
Start off with breakfast (some say the best in the island!) in our Orangery Restaurant. If you fancy a mid-morning snack with a latté, or a balanced meal as part of your treatment in the Ayush Spa, then relax either in Café Aroma or on the alfresco terrace with views over the hotel’s gardens.
For a touch of luxury, enjoy an aperitif in the Lounge Bar before treating your culinary desires to something a little more special in the evening at Saffrons, our fine dining a la carte Restaurant that conjures remarkable dishes passionately prepared with an infusion of spices and freshly sourced local produce offering a healthy alternative to Indian cuisine.

“Excellent Hotel”
This was an excellent hotel. Staff very professional, 20 minutes walk into the town centre. Facilities good, excellent spa & swimming pool. Good choice of buffet breakfast. Couldnt fault a thing.
“Highly recommended”
This was not our first choice of Hotel, and we do not usually choose large hotels such as this one. However, we were very impressed with how this hotel is run, from arrival at the reception desk right through our stay. Buffet breakfasts in large hotels are often disappointing, but at the Hotel de France they manage to provide a huge choice AND keep everything fresh, so we particularly enjoyed our breakfasts. We had a quiet room so no worries on that score, and the quality of accommodation was everything you would expect. We did not fancy the evening meal offer (the main restaurant is Asian) but there are several good fish, Italian and Portuguese restaurants in reasonable walking distance.
“Would return for the Spa facilities alone!”
The spa facilities at the hotel are fantastic - as the weather was not too great initially, we made the most of them! Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Food, both breakfast buffet and evening meals were of excellent quality. 10 minute walk down to the shops and restaurants in St Helier. Room fairly small to standard size, but clean. Unfortunately, the rooms are rather poorly insulated meaning that you hear just about everything that people in the neighbouring rooms are doing. If you have the window open you get a lot of noise from the roof tiles. There was also a wedding reception on the Saturday night in the suite below which went on until one o'clock (we had a note on our bed when we returned to our room). When this finally finished, we then had a lot of noise from the returning guests to rooms next to us. On the whole, I am pleased that we chose this hotel, as for the extra money, it looked far superior to the more dated and tired looking hotels nearer to the town, which looked as though the rooms would encounter a lot of road noise.
“fab leisure facilities”
excellent!
“Good Value”
The Hotel de France was extremely good value, the staff were all first rate, so helpful and always cheerful which is something of a rarity these days. The pool area was delightful and the meals which were available in 3 different restuarants were again good value.
“some disappointments”
On arival we met a very nice receptionist but the rest of the receptionists were unfriendly and not helpful. We were told the hotel had air conditioning and it was free standing and very noisy and unpredictable so somtimes doesn't work. The room had a tiny side window and was very dark. When we asked to be moved to a front room we were treated very rudly and talked down to! We weren't moved. We met another lady staying in the hotel who had similar problems. The good thing about it is the swimming pool and gym. It took us 30 minutes to walk to city centre and no nearby beach! We saw L'horizon hotel which was on the beach and very friendly reception. I think we will go there next time.
“Looking forward to returning.”
Really nice hotel, excellent facilities, friendly staff though a shortish walk from the town, maybe 15 mins or 6 quid(ish) in a cab.
