I only wanted a place to sleep for the night. I would have perfer a cleaner room. Found a lot of human hair here on the rug and on the side of the bed Pieces of wrappers of food. The coffee machine was dirty. Didn't feel safe sleeping on the bed wasn't sure if my sheets and blankets were clean ...

Right near the city

Super 8 a great place to stay if you're looking to go into NYC. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done if you're not too picky! Clean & comfortable after long day out in the city

Front desk staff tried to rip us off!

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: The way the front desk staff lied through his teeth even when caught red-handed
Cons: Change the staff.
Location: nothing
Please do yourselves a favor and book somewhere else! I booked TWO rooms, one for me, one for my friend. Paid in full. Bank account confirms the money is deducted. Expedia shows room booked confirmation. Without thinking twice, we start our journey, me from DC, him from Boston. We were meeting halfway in NYC and staying here at this Super 8. My friend from Boston reached an hour before me, went to the reception and produced his driver's license so they could check him in. The staff at the wait desk informed him that Expedia had turned down my credit card (today morning) so the room had been cancelled!! So my friend asked them to search under my name, and the staff gave him same story: the reservations have been cancelled. He called me, and I told him to sit tight. I arrived and gave him my driver's license. This time the staff told me I have only 1 room to my name, not 2. He said Expedia might have messed up and booked only 1 instead of 2! I called up Expedia, waited on hold for about 40 minutes before getting a rep, explained situation. The rep called the motel, and then the front desk guy was motioning me to come over. Magically, that second room appeared. It was under my friend's name! What a sham! Just over 2 hours ago, this guy was insistently telling us we did not have a room, and now it is there. And he changes his story of how we did not give him proper ID initially! We had to goto another hotel fearing for our belongings here.

Bad area. Poor breakfast. Loud AC unit, had to jam coffee accessory packet into vent to quiet the vibration. Tiny parking lot.

Pros: The beds
Cons: Parking
Location: Manhattan
We like this location because the fare is reasonable and we do not have to pay the expensive Hotels in Manhattan.

I had prepaid for this hotel otherwise would have stayed elsewhere. I was very disappointed that this hotel did not have any elevators for easy access to the 2nd floor. The breakfast was typical for a motel, but it would have been nice had there been more of a variety of fresh fruit. I did not like the location of the hotel, although the shuttle was an excellent attribute, the return ride did not take us to the hotel. Instead, we had some walking to do and I personally think the area was less than desirable. The staff were very polite and professional.

Fabulous hotel for visit to NYC.

Pros: Easy shuttle service to NYC.
We wanted to go to NYC for a long weekend without the big expense of a NYC hotel. Hotel staff was extremely helpful, our room was comfortable and clean. There is a shuttle that stops right outside the hotel every 10 to 15 minutes and takes you to Times Square for a mere $3.00 per person. Then when you're done exploring the city you get back on the shuttle and it returns you to the top of the hill and it's just a short walk down to the hotel. We felt safe walking the short distance to the hotel and were never uncomfortable in our surroundings.

Decent place for the price

At first it kind of seemed a little tacky motel ish. But it has working A.C, that was easy to use and the bed was comfy. The pillows were awful but the room was very clean and the staff were kind. Dont plan on actually having breakfast because theres really nothing besides cereal. And the shuttle bring you to times square where there is barely any breakfast places and its expensive. Yourw beter off going to the ihop thats down the street. The hotel hallways were pretty grotty which made it feel a bit tacky but for the price, the room comfort matches.
