Good hotel for price, nice staffs

Posted 13-Jul-2014
Pros: Staffs are nice, reasonable cost, close to PATH station
Cons: I guess the old infrastructure is hard to be improved.
Pros: Comparing much more expensive hotels in Manhattan, this hotel is much convenient to access downtown NYC with reasonable price. Close to PATH station and one MetroCard can be used for both PATH and MTA and used for multiple people. Same as others' feedback, their staffs were smile and helpful. Good breakfast. Cons: The surrounding area looks old and poor. The hotel is a bit old, so there was some power shakes that shut down TV once and several times of light flash.

Close to transport links to Manhattan and beyond

Posted 10-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendly and approachable staff and better priced than the hotels in Manhattan
Cons: General upgrade needed and representations to local government to clean up the midtown area
Location: Short train ride to the Waterfront with spectacular views of Manhattan across the Hudson River
Located midtown and just a short walk to Journal Square for PATH train service to Manhattan / Newark, so no car required. The hotel was a former art deco style block of flats in a run down and untidy, but vibrant area of Jersey City. The hotel decor and fittings are in need of an upgrade but this is offset by the staff who are positive and helpful. There are plenty of eateries in the area with the food predominantly of the taco / burger / bread rolls variety, but for the Bits, a five minute walk away there is a whole street of Indian restaurants. Take the PATH uptown to Grove Street / Exchange Place / Waterfront and that is where the restaurants / bistros are located in a rapidly developing and much tidier area

Best place to stay if you are visiting NYC!

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: Very cheap rooms, fastest and cheapest way to go to NY. Decent hotel rooms, no funky smell, great and very friendly staff, good breakfast, good wifi.
Cons: - Air Conditioners in the rooms seriously need to be replaced. They are very old. - Loud walking sounds from upstairs, it is a bit disturbing.
Location: Path station is 10 min walk away. 33rd street train takes you to mid-town NYC in 27 min. WTC train takes you to World Trade Center in 10 min
We arrived a couple of hours early, the staff were very accommodating and provided us a very nice room. Parking was not available on location but there is paid parking just one block away for a very affordable price, plenty of parking available even during the long weekend. The hotel has the 1970s feel, the rooms were decent looking, no funky smell. They provided breakfast between 6 AM - 10 AM. The breakfast was good. They have shuttle service to Newark airport, they also reserve cabs for us if we inform them in advance. We took a cab to Liberty State park. The staff are very hard working and focused. They are extremely patient. PATH train station is very close, a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. Very cheap and the trains take us to the heart of NYC in less than half hour. 10 min to World Trade Center(Mon-Fri). The trains are not full, the stations are not very crowded. The train frequency is also very good. Very close to fantastic Indian restaurants(in Indian square). I didnt walk around the area after 10 PM, so I am not sure how safe it is after dark, but before 10 PM, I am sure that it is a very safe area.

If you fly into EWK airport, this is the hotel you want to stay for 3big reasons: free shuttle to airport, free breakfast, close to train station which takes you to Mannhaton.

AC a big disappointment

Pleasant staff. Clean room. Parking offsite and therefore awkward. AC was on but useless and so we were too hot to sleep. Bad night.

Excellent value

Posted 22-Jun-2014
Pros: Very well-priced, excellent staff, and exceptional breakfast.
Cons: I would put a fan in the suite. The window air-conditioner was not enough to cool the entire space.
Location: Just a short PATH train ride outside of New York City. Easy access to the city that never sleeps!
We had booked a room with a king size bed and a fold-out sofa for 3 adults and one child. When we came to check in, we were told that they upgraded our room to a suite with a king-size bed and a queen size bed after seeing we were a group of four, and there would be no additional charge. The building is older, but well kept and full of charm. The room was clean and well-appointed with a microwave and a refrigerator. There were two rooms, but only one of them had air conditioning, so the room with the queen-size bed was very hot with no way to cool it off. We wound up buying a fan at the Rite-Aid to try and direct some air into the extra room. The bathroom was small, but very clean. The breakfast was exceptional, and a welcome start to a busy day of sightseeing. All in all, we were very pleased with our choice of this hotel. The PATH station was only a few blocks away, and it was easy to get into Manhattan. I would definitely stay here again. Very affordable, and a great value.

Excellent Hotel for the Price

Cons: 24 hour shuttle to EWR
Stayed with my wife and two children. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Only complaint is I wish they had a 24 hour shuttle to EWR (or at least until midnight).

Good experience. Booked hotel for 4 nights. The staff was very helpful and generous. Breakfast was average and not too good considering the price of the hotel.

Good location

If you plan to visit NYC using the public transport, this would suit you.rooms are decent enough and it's a deal at the price in this area. Seems the hotel has been built out of an old apartment building.Path station a couple of blocks from this hotel.plenty of restaurants in the area especially indian and mexican.
